Chapter 72: Living Room Tensions and Possessive Claims
Aria's POV
The living room felt impossibly small with all of us crammed onto the couches. Caleb sat close beside me, his warmth reassuring despite the chilly atmosphere. Across from us, Lucian's dark eyes hadn't left my face for a single moment. The tension hung heavy in the air, thick enough to choke on.
Gareth cleared his throat, breaking the uncomfortable silence. "So, Monroe, how long have you known my sister?"
I nearly rolled my eyes. The protective brother act was getting old fast.
"We met at the university library," I jumped in before Caleb could answer. "About six months ago."
Caleb smiled at me, his eyes softening with the memory. "I was struggling with calculus, and Aria saved me. She's brilliant, you know."
"I just helped with a few problems," I mumbled, feeling my cheeks warm under his praise.
"Don't be modest," Caleb insisted. "She explained everything so clearly. I wouldn't have passed without her."
