Flashback(Princess festival)-

"What do you mean by potential." Ash asked.

"Well every pokemon is different. Like humans pokemon potential for batteling vary. Like among all the pokemon here your Pikachu, my gastly, Alains Charizard and Gary's Wortortle have the highest potential. It is an inherent quality. Like that manga with core evolution." Me.

"Really what level would they be then." Alain.

"Well they are of level 8." I said.

"Is any of my other pokemon of that level ." Gary asked.

"Yes your Raticate was of that level. And that itself is very rare to have. Some trainers are not even able to get more than lvl 5 and onwards potential pokemon in wild. "I stated.

"Is there no way to improve there potential." Sharon asked.

"There are. Though you won't find it anywhere in books or net. These are secrets guarded by certain clan. Like the dragoon clan of Elite four Lance and Jhoto gym leader Clair, venolo family of Gym leader Koga and many more." I stated.

"That's too bad." Misty said dissatisfied.

"What are you sad for. Your gym must have its own secrets right. I mean if I knew a way to enhance potential then I also would guard it like a dog." I said.

"Makes sense. You work hard for others to reap benefits. Seems foolish thing to do." Alain said.

"Well then is there any known potential enhancement method." Ash asked.

"Well using premium evolutionary items for evolution is a known way to enhance potential. But because of this the evolutionary stones alone cost minimum of five million poke dollors. And it improves by only 1 level." I said. 

"So expensive." Sharon said.

"I guess this is why breeders are so regarded." Lynn said.

"Why?" Ash asked.

"Cause till some extent a good breeder can ensure that the hatched pokemon is of very high potential." Brock.

Flashback end-

"Hey guys long time no see." We turned around to see Alain.

"What were you upto." He asked.

"Evolving pokemon. Turns out my alakazam is also of level 7." Gary said excitedly.

"Congrats. Hey want to have lunch you two." Alain said.

"Yeah." Ma and Gary. 

In Cafeteria-

"Hey Regina have your Blaziken and Charizard got some kind of buff lately. Potential upgrade or something from last time." Alain asked. 

"Yeah they did seem stronger than before in a different way." Gary nodded. Well they sure are talented.

"Yeah they had some." I resigned.

"What if we tell you methods we discovered for the method you did. You were eyeing my Blastoise and Alains Jolteon for some time." Gary said.

"How about somewhere more private." I said. It was too valuable to speak of in open . Alains Jolteon was psudo champion potential but now it was of champion potential. Gary's Blastoise was also of champion potential but now it was of psudo legend potential.

In my booked room-

"Well my Charizard while battling Blaine jumped into volcano and upgraded one level and Blaziken absorbed Moltress flame while batteling and upgraded two level ." I said

"Whoa." They both said in unision. Two level jump. Legendry are in different league al together.

"My Jolteon jumped in and absorbed the thunderstorm and upgraded." Alain. As expected.

"My Blastoise absorbed a mystic pendant. We were diving then. I broke it into shards and blastoise absorbed its core energy. He enured that no energy escaped. Of course it was of premium quality." Gary.

"Yeah and these methods work only one time and upgrade by one level only. If attempted a second time then it will not be good for there health." I added.

"Makes sense." Alain added.

 "By the way Regina." Gary started with his teasing tone.

"I heard from Ash how because of you he was able to obtain a high potential Mr Mime, Bulbasaur, Staryu and eevee." Gary said.

"What can we do. Maybe we are not that close to her." Alain added taking the hint. 

"I helped you with bulbasaur." I said.

"Yeah him 4 us 1. Maybe he was right. You care for him more." Gary said. When did he become this sly. 

"Fine. I will help you two in catching one pokemon of high potential. How about it." I said.

"We were joking. But how about we also help you obtain one pokemon normally hard to find in return for your help to capture high potntial pokemon." Alain said.

"Yeah we know the situation that time. Don't worry." Gary said. 

"This place is famous for psychic and water pokemon. I wish for your help with a high potential ." Alain said.

"I also wish to capture a high potential magikarp or gyarados." Gary. Well both are okay I guess.

"Just bring underwater breathing machine for yourself." I said. They were confused but nodded at that. 

We after dinner headed towards the lake. There was no one there. Perfect. "Get ready to jump in the lake." I said equiping myself with the underwater breathing device brought from system. 

"Wait what." They both asked but I had already jumped in. They followed me shortly after. 

"We searched but there was no Poliwag. Also magikarp of psudo gym level were the only one we could see. We searched for half an hour but could not find one of suitable potential. 

Then only Alain called me towards the creek. There was a swarm of magikarp. No one tried to go near them. Among them there was an elite level magikarp. I pointed that one to gary and indicated its potential with my hand. He went to battle it and soon caught it. We decided to come out.

"Thankyou Regina. This is the first water pokemon I have caught. I thought adding one more in the party would be a good idea." Gary said earnestly. Suddenly I spotted a ryhdon of elite potential.

I wished to catch it but remembering Alain having a tyranitar I thought helping him this once wouldn't hurt. Maybe I can ask him to help me catch one in Mt Moon.

"Alain do you wish for a ryhdon cause that one is of high potential same as Gary's Magikarp." I said. 

"Definitely" and sent Gyarados for a battle. They fought and he caught the Ryhorn. They both were very happy. 

"Do you wish for an arkenine. I can help you with it." Gary asked. I nooded at that. Arkeninne and growlithe were monopolized by police force and capturing them in wild is imposible. The only way you can obtain them is if you have earned merits or with strong connection.

"I can help you capture a larvitar from Mt. Moon. I know you love to raise them from stage 1. Just perform well in Indigo league." Alain said. 

"Thankyou both of you." I said touched.

"No thankyou for helping us catch them." They both said.
