Getting Ready

In his case, no crumbs fell, they did not dare.

He chewed unbothered, he looked as if he was really here to a have a breakfast.

Ashley waited and waited for him to speak.

But he did not.

His lack of attention caused her to smile in mockery. She was a stupid to think that her issues would be taken in concern.

Her eyes moved to her watch. Just fifteen minutes more.

"Are four days okay?"

The voice suddenly came, breaking the silence.

Ashely stared at him, confused. "Huh?"

He dabbed the napkin on his mouth before elegantly placing it aside. "The notice four days prior to any event, is that fine?"

With his eyes fixed at her, Ashley found it hard to even breathe normally.

She silently looked back, this time it was her without any response for a long time. When a slight frown almost etched on his brows, it was then that Ashley nodded.

"That's a deal then." He simply said, again unbothered yet his eyes upon her were doing something in her stomach.

For some reason, she again got that feeling.

Under his gaze, Ashley felt small, too small to even exist. He did not intentionally make her feel that, but she felt that deep.

Having enough of it, she asked a bit tiredly. "Can you please look elsewhere?"

Thankfully, he did not put forth more questions and moved his gaze away. The next fifteen minutes they spent were in silence.

Ashley made sure that when fifteen minutes were up, she was the first one to step out.

As the car in which Ashley sat left the Cafe, a man came closer to Michael.

Michael was sitting at the same spot he had been sitting for an hour now.

"Boss, they have started paying attention to Miss Parker. As your fiancée, they are curious about her."

"Good."

"It won't be long since they would step into the city. The execution is occurring just as planned."

Michael stood up, dusted off his suit and began walking out. "Any other queries?"

"But I am afraid Miss Parker is too smart. What if she learnt about it all?"

Michael stopped for a second and his eyes went to the place where a car was parked a few minutes ago. He calmly spoke after a while. "She won't. Not until I wish for her to know."

Smith knew his boss was the man with plans. However for this time, he wasn't too sure about it.

"Dangers would be lurking around her now."

Michael put on the shades. "She had to be in it."

Smith sighed and suddenly a thought popped up in his mind.

His boss was really cruel!

Once done with the breakfast, the car sped towards the private salon. For straight two hours, Ashley quietly sat and let the artists do their work.

Seeing how there was not a single soul lingering around except for the ones working here, Ashley did not need to even think to tell that it was booked for the day.

"Mam, the make-up and hair is done. Let's get you in your dress."

"Sure." Ashley got up and walked to the changing room. There her dress for the day was already kept. For a second, Ashley forgot to breathe staring at the sky-blue gown with long sleeves.

It was...pretty.

"This gown is from the collection which has not been launched yet. It is an exclusive bridal series. This dress has been selected by Mr Clark himself."

Her mood turned off just as she heard it was selected by Michael.

Ashley couldn't blame the shop assistant though. From her perspective, that was supposed to only make her happier.

"I will put it on." Ashley grabbed the hanger and went inside.

"Would you need help?"

Since the dress was not a ball gown and was pretty light, Ashley shook her head. "No, thank you."

Inside the changing room, her hands caressed the material against her skin. It was soft and expensive...fully opposite to the rugged clothes she wore as a child.

With the make-up and hair done already, she did not look like someone who came from that world. It was so difficult to differentiate this beautiful lady from that...dirty child.

Her lips finally arched up in a smile shouting mockery before she went out.

"Mr Clark definitely knows what suits you!"

As if.

Ashley gave her a soft smile rather than pasting her real thoughts on her face.

"If there are any changes you want in your make-up or hair, you can tell us."

"No, it's good." That was true. Her face was beautified with minimal make-up. Her hair were set as textured low hair bun with a pearl and crystal hair piece attached to it.

Overall, Ashley was comfortable and looked nice.

"Miss Parker, can we move?"

Steve came at the doorstep.

"Sure."

Ashley picked up her hand bag which was given to her not long ago by the shop assistant. It contained nothing but her phone and headed out.

The next task as per the so called schedule was the photoshoot.

With Michael.

And Ashley was not looking forward to it in anyway.

Rolling down the window, Ashley closed her eyes and let the air caress her face. It felt nice and soothing in a way.

There were several thoughts swirling in her mind. How good was it when there was only one tension in her life!

Now although the debt would be cleared off her right after the marriage, Ashley would be welcoming other issues in her life.

And and did not have good feelings about it.

"Miss Parker, we are here."

Ashley opened her eyes. Once more, she blindly followed Steve inside another one of the unfamiliar buildings.

The way she blindly followed him around should be concerning.
