A Traitor’s Bargain

Vyr dropped to his knees and quickly crawled over to Nyxoria, grabbing her legs.

"I am so sorry, Nyxoria," he begged. "I was greedy and I have realized my mistake. Please, forgive me."

But Nyxoria kicked him away.

"Are you joking with me right now?" she snapped. "You’ve run out of any backup plans, and now you think crawling your stupid self to me will erase everything you just did right now? Where is the man that was gloating because of that old woman?"

"No," Vyr said, scrambling to explain. "I have realized my mistake, Nyxoria. I truly don't know who is pulling the strings. I am just a pawn in their game. They knew this day would come and that's why I was given that powerless being who has been residing in my head since." Vyr told his niece.

Tharros let out a scoff. "So if your so-called 'powerless being' had succeeded, would you have pitied my bride and me? Just tell yourself the truth Vyr and stop lying."
