Between Love and Escape (2)

Noah spun around quickly, swinging his sword blindly behind him, but Daisy was already gone.

“Damn it,” he muttered under his breath, spinning again, just in time to catch her fist flying straight at his face.

Crack.

His head jerked hard to the side as pain exploded across his cheekbone. He stumbled but didn’t fall. Gritting his teeth, he ducked her next punch and brought both his swords down in a fast, heavy swing, aimed to cut clean through.

But again, she wasn’t there.

“She’s teleporting,” he thought with a growl.

Before he could track her, she reappeared mid-air, right above him. One leg came crashing down on the flat side of one of his swords, knocking it clean out of his grip. It clattered loudly as it slid across the stone floor.
