In Another Life, Dika

Tharros Castle: Garden:

Tharros and Vyrelen stood up, quietly excusing themselves with nods and smiles, leaving the two girls alone in the rose garden. Dika waited until they had fully walked out of sight before slowly getting up and moving to sit where Tharros had been just moments ago, right beside Nyxoria.

She didn’t even say a word yet, but Nyxoria tilted her head slightly, narrowed her eyes, and spoke first.

“What is it? Just spit it out already,” she said, her voice calm but direct.

Dika blinked, her brows lifting slightly in surprise. “Wow, that was fast,” she murmured.

Nyxoria shrugged, a soft sigh leaving her lips. “You weren’t really here, I noticed it, Dika. Your mind wasn't really here. You smiled and you even laughed at whatever Vyrelen was telling you, but your mind was somewhere else. And I could sense it right away. You haven’t been at peace since we sat down. So, just say what’s been eating you.”
