Chapter 46 — The Second Light

It started with a pulse.

Unseen, unheard—but felt.

A ripple of energy flowed across the village like a silent breeze, brushing past farmers, builders, crafters, guards, and companions alike. It was the System's final confirmation: the Domain was alive, and within it, its people were awakening.

Rael was the first to stagger.

She dropped to her knees, light spilling from her core, hands clutching her chest. Iden was by her side in seconds, but her breath was steady.

"I'm fine," she whispered, eyes glowing faintly with white-gold light. "It's… beautiful."

[Class Awakening: Lifeweaver Initiate → Sanctum Herald]→ Support-focused class enhanced for sustained buffs, rapid healing pulses, and spiritual area control.→ Passive: "Pulse of Purpose" – Nearby allies gain slow regeneration and stat resistance.

"This... this can protect even when I can't fight," she said, standing with a glow of serene power.

Not far away, Nyra stood in the scouting tower, breath held as a silver-blue interface unfolded before her eyes.

"Another class?"

[Class Awakening: Stalker of Echoes → Whisperblade Captain]→ Gains temporary command over shadow scout units.→ Unlocks stealth-based zone control and rapid infiltration techniques.→ Passive: "Echo Trace" – Leaves a spectral afterimage to distract enemies.

She smiled, turning her gaze toward the woods.

"Iden will like this."

Kael, meanwhile, had been working on undead command formations when a shadow stretched unnaturally behind him.

He turned. And it spoke.

In a voice he knew. His own.

[Class Evolution: Death Scholar → Grave Architect]→ Unlocks passive evolution control over raised undead.→ Gains Necro-Glyph Construction, allowing ritual arrays to empower undead zones.→ Skill: "Corpse Archive" – Stores skills of slain enemies in phylacteries for later resurrection or enhancement.

His lips curled into a grin.

"This is getting dangerous. I like it."

Around the village, the changes spread like wildfire:

Riv, the former potter, awakened as a Barrier Mason, now able to carve instant defense glyphs into stone.

Tommel, an older herder, gained the class Beast-Harmonist, able to bond with wild fauna and stabilize livestock breeding.

Liri, the herbalist apprentice, became a Verdant Scribe, creating scrolls that accelerated plant growth or treated disease instantly.

Even the twin blacksmith apprentices gained the dual class Elemental Smith—able to forge using mana flow instead of flame.

Excitement buzzed in the air. The village no longer felt like survivors. They were becoming specialists. Craftsmen. Warriors. Guardians.

And yet—Iden stood apart.

The system had not gifted him anything. No second class. No burst of light. No awakening.

Until the interface changed.

He narrowed his eyes at the interface, then nodded slowly.

"They evolve. So must I."
