What comes next

After they settled in the shelter, they decided to exchange they experienced with the fog

and with the knowledge they found, they made an information board that said:

- never trust the voice from the fog

- the fog creatures can use the voice of their victims

- the fog can be dispersed fog using electricity 

...

"So what do we do now" said Alfred while looking around with Luna sleeping next to him

"nothing much, we have enough food two last two months that should last till help come" said Johnny while tinkering with something on the workbench

"what about security, should we set watch shifts on the camera" asked Mark while looking at the screens and panel filed with buttons and switches

"good idea, that will be really helpful" said Marcy with enthusiasm as she got up

Marcy got dizzy and fell right back to the couch

"the adrenalin wore off, the lack of sleep is kicking in you should rest, I will take the first watch" Mark replied with a grin.

"I should tell about all of those" said Johnny while gesturing at the jumble of color coded buttons and switches

"yah" said with a lackluster attitude

"the yellow ones control the light of the entire house, each number refers to a location in the house you will find the numbers and the location on this map right here, and you must remember them all, and all light's out by 8pm we don't want to get the attention of what or who ever is out there. Those black switches control the entrances of the house, never open unless sure that one of us. The red buttons control the electricity to all the location on the house, they have the same number system as the light switches" spoke Johnny with a strong intelligent tone

"is that all professor" replied Mark in sarcasm

"what!?" said Johnny in frustration

before he could say anything back, he remembered the explosion he heard 

Johnny grabbed the town map and looked on it, trying to find what could create such an explosion his eyes fell on the gas station, then he went to the screen to look at the record to make sure he saw the gas station go in flame in the record which he gave a sigh of relief to

"what are you doing?" said Mark with confusion 

"trying to see what that explosion was when you got here" answered Johnny while looking intently at the monitors

"did you find what it was?" asked Alfred while trying to look at the camera 

"I think so, look here you can see the small gas station go up in flame, but it seems to have been empty" said Johnny in a sigh of relief

"you mean the Carlson gas station, it was empty this morning the refill truck was going to come this afternoon" said Marcy in a yawn

.....

"It has been a month since the fog appeared and there is no sing of help, me and agent Brungl have been going hungry, and he is starting to look delicious..."

Knock-knock, "Luna, are you there?" asked Marcy in a caring tone

"yes, I am here" said Luna in a frustrated childish voice 

"come it is diner time" said Marcy in a mom like tone

Luna's eyes lit up as she sprinted past Marcy to the diner table, where she said in joy, "pasta!"

"That is a nice change of food" said Alfred with a smile

"I asked Johnny, and he said that it is good to keep our morals high" said Marcy while filling the plats with equal portions 

"it sure is making me happy" said Mark, almost drooling

"Where is Johnny?" asked Luna with her wide blue eyes

"it is his shift to watch so that he can keep us safe"said Marcy while pointing to the open room

"give me his plate, I will take it to him" said Luna with determination

"OK, just be careful when you walk"said Marcy in a soft voice 

"she is a strong girl you know stronger than you and me" said Mark while looking at Luna walking away

"I mean, to witness both your parents die is just..." said Alfred with pain in his eyes

"it has been a rough week for all of us" said Marcy while looking at the floor

...

"Hello Johnny, I have brought you some past" said Luna while holding the plat of food

"thank you, Luna" said Johnny with a smile

"what is that?" asked Luna, looking at the ball that he was tinkering 

"this is an electric bomb that in theory should create a big enough electric shock to disperse the fog and keep us safe" answered Johnny with exaggerating

"cool, so it's like a secret weapon that can keep the monsters away" said Luna with a glint in her eyes

"yah more or less" said Johnny with a chuckle

as Luna gave Johnny the plate of food, she turned around and bolted out the room and went to get her portion of food 

"pasta!" Luna said in joy

as Marcy put the plate of food in front of Luna and said with a chuckle "dig in" 

as Luna devoured the pasta in joy, Mark said to Marcy "I will go ask Johnny about the water situation"

"why?"asked Marcy in confusion

"I am in need of a shower. I haven't showered for a couple of days before all this happened" said Mark in humorous tone

"yah you stink" said Luna in a chuckle between mouth fulls of pasta

"she said it not me" said Marcy with a laugh

"oh I stink huh come over here you little goblin" said Mark in a playful tone

"not now, let me eat" said Luna while protecting here plate

"ok, but I will get you next time" said Mark while walking backwards

...

"Hi Johnny boy" said Mark in playful tone

"what's up Tarzan" replied in a heart beat

"oh, not you to" said Mark in surprise

"Marcy told me to use it if you pull something like this" said Johnny in chuckle

"anyway why did you come here your shift is still an hour away" asked Johnny 

"yah I wanted to ask you about the water situation" asked Mark

"we are actually pretty good if we can take a shower once every week, but we have to limit the shower time to 5 minute at most" said Johnny with a proud tone

"so I can take a shower like now" said Mark with a joy in his voice

"just try not to drown" replied Johnny with a mischievous smile

"I did not drown, I slipped on a bar of soap, and I was 7 at the time" said Mark in frustration

"If you say so" replied Johnny with a smile

as Marcy saw Mark walking past her, she asked, "what did he say?" 

"Not now, I have a shower to take" answered Mark in a smile

"nice, but how long can we take?" asked Marcy

"he said once a week for 5 minute should be ok"answered mark

"so see you in 5 minute" said Mark as he waddled towered the shower
