Leon gulped heavily.
He could naturally understand the situation his universe was in. If those Demon Lords did manage to destroy the barriers filtering the mana, they could easily conquer this universe.
"But you don't have to worry about it. Even I don't have to worry about it. Powerful aliens like Shadows are the ones to worry about this kind of thing. For us, we just need to survive in this long-lasting war."
Adam replied with a teasing tone. Indeed, Leon didn't need to worry about it, but he was different.
He had no choice but to worry about it. Because if they failed to defend against the invasion of Demon Lords, not only would they die, but they would also become enemies of the universe.
That's also why he wanted to have a Demon Lord who could pass the Devil Destruction Formation behind him.
That would not only guarantee his safety in the universe but also outside the universe.
As a human, he naturally didn't want anyone to control him or his race, especially when they were not a part of his race.
But humanity didn't have a choice. They couldn't contend against the strongest inside the universe or outside the universe.
There were two roads in front of them, and no matter which they chose, they would be forced to work under someone.
Now, at least they had a third option.
Humanity didn't like Shadow Aliens. Saying they hated Shadow Aliens would be a better statement.
If it wasn't for the fact that they couldn't fight against Shadow Aliens, humanity would've declared war against them.
It was a simple rule of the jungle.
Humanity was just minding its business, trying to improve its technology, and one day, a bunch of aliens came and destroyed their lives by terraforming the Earth.
Seven hundred fifty-five years ago, there was no superhero with amazing powers that could save them.
They were just ordinary humans.
When they faced an invasion, they were killed. When they faced destruction, they were destroyed.
There was no peace or a way out until a certain individual emerged and became the literal reincarnation of God for humanity.
He wasn't truly such a being, but he was praised as such because he saved humanity from extinction.
And, if it wasn't for him, they would've been truly extinct thanks to Shadow Aliens.
That's why to this day, every single human at the top of the power hierarchy hates Shadow Aliens.
Thinking about the Shadow Aliens, Adam's eyes fell on a photo. It was taken when that certain individual was a bit older, almost like him.
But he had blue hair that was the result of his mutation with purple eyes.
'Sir, if only you were still alive, maybe you would've shown us a miracle like you always used to.'
Angela and Marcus also saw this but didn't react too much.
Unlike Adam, who was extremely close to Sir, they were only friends. Now their strength had surpassed his, they didn't need to show such fanaticism towards him.
"Sir, I have a question. If Mana could corrupt us and our universe, why can this New Demon Lord use mana to make others his servants and still pass through the Devil Destruction Formation?"
Leon asked.
Adam retracted his gaze and calmly explained.
"Because he doesn't change our soul. Every person has a soul. Ordinary people have a scattered soul, while awakened ones have a weak but properly shaped soul."
"This is why certain people can awaken certain abilities and techniques while others can't. They do have a chance, but this chance includes artificial mutation that humanity can't do."
"This is a level of technology that only powerful races have. There is another way, which is through blood inheritance, but this can be commonly found on Earth."
"Except only those who have reached Golden Rank have a hundred percent chance of producing a child with a perfectly shaped soul."
Hearing that, Leon asked.
"Sir, do those Shadow Aliens possess this kind of technology?"
"Yes, they do. That's how Sir was able to awaken. Didn't you read his biography?" Adam asked.
Leon chuckled and rubbed the back of his head.
"I did, but only the mutation was written in the book."
"Oh! Is that right?"
Adam looked at Angela and Marcus for confirmation. Both of them sighed and nodded.
"Yes, Adam!"
"But why?" Adam couldn't help but glare at them while asking. He didn't understand why these people would lie about Sir's life.
Angela explained.
"Adam, you should know who our enemy is. If we let people know that we gained our strength from an experiment from our enemies, what do you think our future generation will think of those aliens?"
"Will they believe that these aliens gave us these abilities, especially when it is true, or will they resent these aliens for experimenting on us and our world?"
"We didn't want to take this risk, Adam. Our hatred against the Shadow Aliens must not be forgotten. When they killed billions of our people, they created this hatred, and we will not let it disappear."
Originally, Adam was angry about them changing Sir's biography. But after hearing their explanation, he subdued his anger.
He could understand it because he was the one who truly faced those people. Unlike Angela and Marcus, who came to power after those aliens left, Adam was still following Sir and fighting for humanity's survival.
He was the one who called Sir 'The First Superhero'. He was the one who started the trend of superheroes.
He did all of this so that the world would never forget Sir.
Seeing his expression, Angela and Marcus sighed a breath of relief. Because it was a small matter, Adam never checked it and read the book that was slightly modified from the others.
This book was specially prepared for him by Angela and Marcus. They didn't think they would need to explain it after so many years.
"Sir, what should we do with the Demon Lord? Should we keep an eye on him or let him do whatever he wants?"
Leon asked.
Adam looked at Angela and Marcus, both of whom nodded at the same time.
Adam turned toward Leon and spoke with a serious expression.
"Leon, I will give you full authority as a Rainbow-Ranked Superhero to handle the matters of the Demon Lord. I have only one requirement."
"Those who choose to follow the Demon Lord must never harm humans. They should rather give up their lives than harm fellow humans."
Hearing that, Leon gave him a bitter smile and said.
"Sir, you are giving me too much trouble. This simply can't be done. Otherwise, we wouldn't need to follow those Superhero rules so strictly."
Adam nodded and continued.
"I understand, but I have faith in your abilities. These people don't have to be undercover agents. They just need to have this bottom line."
"That's the problem, Sir."
Leon continued.
"We can't make them have this bottom line if they join him. Because, except for a few people, most of those who join him will gain an enormous boost in their talent and strength."
"This kind of power rush could affect their mind instantly, making them believe that they should do whatever it takes to get this kind of power. And, since only the Demon Lord can provide them this power, they would follow him for a lifetime."
Leon's expression turned bitter as he spoke.
"You should know about those special situations. Even with those rules, there are still many people on earth who want to do evil activities just to gain more strength."
"Some of them have even sacrificed the lives of thousands of people to gain more talent and strength. If those rules can't make them stop, how can I make these people have such a bottom line?"
"Especially when they don't have to follow our rules with him as their backing."
Hearing his complaint, Adam wasn't angry at him; instead, he smiled and said.
"You are correct. But guess what happened just a few minutes ago."
Leon was speechless by his question. Of course, he wouldn't know what happened a few minutes ago.
He was inside the room, and unlike Adam, he couldn't search an entire continent with just his Divine Awareness.
"You are bullying him, Adam."
Angela rolled her eyes and spoke.
"Just a few minutes ago, the Demon Lord completely sealed off his powers. I can't even sense a drop of mana in his body. I am not sure why he did that."
"But since he has done such a thing, I have this intuition that he won't act like an arrogant being who looks down on everybody. Because if that's the case, we can easily kill him."
"And, he knows that too. When he just arrived, all three of us sensed his presence and tried to find him. When we did, he found us back."
"But he only had the power of a Diamond Rank. So, either he has a certain reason for sealing his strength, or he has done it for no reason."
"Either way, he can't show strength more than Diamond Rank."
