Chapter 102 - A Big Misunderstanding

3/5

---

After another round of passionate tumbling under the sheets, Airmid clung to his arm, exhausted, and soon fell fast asleep.

Raven, still full of energy, stared blankly up at the pitch-black ceiling.

Ever since absorbing Hestia's divine blood, not only had his physical abilities increased, but even his mental strength had risen significantly.

However…

That ever-burning fire within him was starting to become a bit of a problem.

He turned his head slightly.

Seeing Airmid sleeping so gracefully, the urge to continue vanished.

"Forget it. Guess I'll go give Eina a little surprise instead."

With that thought, Raven carefully withdrew his arm.

After quietly getting dressed, he began chanting a teleportation spell.

North Main Street, District Eight.

The Guild Headquarters, High-Class Residential Area.

Inside Eina's dark bedroom, a white magic circle flickered briefly.

Raven appeared out of thin air.

Given the hour, Eina—being a diligent staff member—had long since fallen asleep.

Not thinking too much, he quietly slipped into her bed.

And then—

He wrapped his arms around the delicate body curled up under the blanket.

Lying on his side, Raven quickly noticed something was off.

Besides sleeping a little too soundly...

This person…

Didn't have pointed ears.

She wasn't Eina?

If not, then who!?

A million question marks flooded Raven's mind.

He reached out toward the other side.

That's when he discovered—there was another person sleeping in the bed.

And this one did have pointed ears.

After a quick check, he confirmed that one of them was indeed Eina.

And the girl beside her… was a human.

"…Shit."

"I messed up."

Raven was stunned.

A certain image flashed through his mind—a beautiful girl with cherry blossom pink hair.

Misha (now referred to as Misia)

(PS: She'll be referred to as Misia from now on.)

He had seriously screwed up.

Who would've thought the Guild's flower, Eina, would sleep together with her best friend tonight?

With that realization…

That raging inner fire of his was doused in an instant.

Just as he was about to quietly slip away while both girls were still asleep—

Misia suddenly woke up.

"Damn it…"

"I should have just gone through with it."

Raven regretted hesitating.

And then—

A terrified scream rang out.

The sleeping Eina jolted awake in shock.

"M-Misia, what's wrong?!"

she asked in a panic.

"S-Someone's… someone's assaulting me!"

"H-Help!"

"…Huh!?"

Eina was utterly stunned.

She turned on the magic-stone lamp.

And there—right in front of her—

Was a familiar face.

"R-Raven-kun?!"

"What are you doing… here?!"

Eina's green eyes went wide with disbelief.

"…I can only say—this is all a misunderstanding."

Lying between the two girls, Raven scratched his head awkwardly.

"A… a misunderstanding?"

A few moments later—

After a heavy round of explaining.

"Misia, I'm so sorry."

"Raven-kun… he really didn't do it on purpose."

Eina apologized to her with a bitter expression.

"I-I'm ruined… I'll never get married after this…"

Misia sobbed uncontrollably.

She couldn't believe it—

Her best friend was already that far along with the infamous Heavenly Demon Lord.

It hadn't even been that long!

"W-Will I… end up pregnant?"

Misia looked at Raven with teary, resentful eyes.

"Don't worry. I'll take responsibility."

"I swear, it really was just a big misunderstanding."

Now that things had gone this far—and couldn't be undone—

Raven could only show his sincerity.

Normally…

Most female staff at the Guild didn't look favorably on adventurers.

After all…

Adventuring was a dangerous profession. One misstep and you might disappear forever.

Among them—

Some had truly fallen for adventurers, only to cry into their pillows at night.

Swearing eternal love, only to vanish into the Dungeon, never to return.

Eina herself had once collapsed to her knees when one of her assigned adventurers came back from the Dungeon—as a corpse.

So…

With all those harsh lessons, most of the receptionists had learned to keep a safe distance from adventurers.

On the surface—

They wore kind smiles and spoke politely.

But in truth, their relationships were strictly professional.

None of them would dare cross that invisible line.

Among them…

Only Eina, the Guild's flower, intentionally sought to bridge that gap.

That was exactly why Raven had chosen her as his advisor in the first place.

"So how exactly are you planning to take responsibility?"

Under Eina's gentle comfort, Misia eventually stopped crying.

As for Raven's behavior just now—

Eina didn't get mad. She understood and chose to forgive him.

After all, she had promised he could come over anytime…

She just never imagined it would lead to such an accident tonight.

All she could say was…

Poor Misia.

"First of all, if it's compensation you want, I'll pay you—however much you think is fair."

"Second, I'm not just some ordinary adventurer. You could… choose to be my woman."

After thinking for a moment, Raven laid out two optimal options.

If money could solve the problem, that would be ideal.

Now it all depended on Misia's choice.

"…Huh?"

Both girls cried out in unison.
