Monstrous Ascension

Born into poverty, Kaelos adapted, doing whatever it took just to survive and escape his hellhole. No money? He'll work for it. Difficult? He'd work even harder. All he ever wanted was to make a living and help his family.



Just as everything seemed well, fate played its cruelest trick.



On a fateful day, Kaelos and his friends headed to their college campus when space abruptly shattered. In an instant, they were transported to an unknown world. A dark and decaying world in constant apocalypse, beyond dangerous and eldritch, where incomprehensible monsters lurked everywhere.



There, death and slaughter were common. Madness was inevitable.



To survive, the fortunate built sanctuaries, while the desperate erected abysses to contain these creatures.



But to truly survive and live longer? To grow stronger? One must consume the remains of those creatures, obtaining their mystical powers at the cost of gradually becoming inhuman.



Kaelos and his friends sought any means to survive and return to Earth.



However, they would come to understand.



Power comes at a heavy price.

- The world will be dark and quite depressing yet paradoxically balanced with hope and dreams.

- There will be occasional slices of moments. This is part of the world itself and is necessary for the living beings' sanity. If you're looking for action and suffering, then this is not for you.

- MC and the others will eventually transform into monsters but will mostly keep their humanoid forms for a reason I couldn't spoil yet.
