Blue Blood (2)

Notifications suddenly appeared beside him.

[STR: 14] → [STR: 20]

[AGI: 17] → [AGI: 22]

[MAG: 5] → [MAG: 8]

[New Technique: Red and Blue Strike (Entry-level 0/100)]

Lucas stared at the notification, slightly stunned.

He read the last line again, just to be sure.

'I already reached entry-level?'

'That was it?'

He scratched his head, confused.

Entry-level was that easy? How come people have a hard time…

What a joke!

Lucas pinched the bridge of his nose. He knew better than anyone else how hard it was to learn a technique and reach the entry-level.

Back then, when he was applying to join guilds he attempted countless times to reach entry-level in the techniques given by them, only to barely progress even after days of effort.

So not only did this come as a shock to him, but it directly shattered his cognition.

Divine Comprehension…

It was too strong!

Lucas sighed.

On another note, the increase in his stats was a pleasant surprise.

He didn't think learning the technique would increase his strength that much, or perhaps it was because he awakened his aura as well.

A hunter's talent may be predetermined, but their stats could be improved further.

There were many ways to improve one's stats. The most common methods include learning a new technique or achieving a breakthrough in an existing one.

With the advancement of alchemy, consuming special potions and pills has also become a widely accepted method of enhancing one's strength.

Some special individuals could also get stronger through fighting.

In short, there were numerous ways for a Hunter to get stronger.

Lucas went back to the Mindframe. Seeing the familiar interface, he tapped on the Blue Dojo app once more.

Then, he found the "Red and Blue Strike" technique among the list and pressed it.

A moment later, he reappeared in the familiar white space.

Once more, he tried the technique for himself, replacing the genderless figure.

Once the punching bag appeared, he didn't waste any time.

With one swift motion, he struck.

Woosh!

The bag flinched twice in the same instant, red and blue lights flashing across its surface.

Afterward, the punching bag suddenly disappeared.

In its place, the genderless figure reappeared before him.

It nodded slowly and followed it up with a martial bow.

Bam!

At that moment, the white space disintegrated, leaving Lucas floating in a dark space.

He raised his brows as a pop-up screen appeared in front of him.

[You have achieved "entry-level" in Red and Blue Strike.]

[Do you wish to continue to the advanced-level?]

Lucas thought for a moment before nodding. He wanted to try and see the extent of his talent.

The moment he accepted, the screen disappeared, and the white space returned once more.

This time, aside from the genderless figure, another figure stood at the opposite end of the room.

As soon as Lucas appeared, the genderless figure moved immediately.

Swift and precise, the figure closed in the distance in an instant.

The opposing figure held its ground, reacting calmly.

The genderless figure struck first, aiming straight for the opposing figure's head.

The opposing figure blocked, but once the hit landed, a red light and blue light flashed.

Bam!

Surprised, the opposing figure's hand was thrown back by the impact, leaving an opening.

However, unlike before, the opposing figure simply watched.

With all the time in the world, the genderless figure capitalized on the gap and delivered a clean finishing blow. Red and blue light exploded on contact, sending the opposing figure flying across the room.

Lucas watched with interest. But after the fight ended, an option to try for himself didn't appear like before. Instead, he was shown more examples. Each example showed either a different form, style, or use.

Seeing them, he suddenly understood the difference between entry-level and advanced-level.

Entry-level means barely being able to use the technique, barely effective in battles.

Advanced-level, on the other hand, is being able to adapt it to one's fighting style naturally. One could use it as simple as breathing.

The gap between entry-level and advanced-level was massive.

This was just his intuition, but he felt even if ten entry-level users fought one advanced-level user in a battle, they wouldn't stand a chance, assuming all of them had equal strength.

New information about the technique was transferred into his mind.

Essentially, the technique Red and Blue Strike was about using aura and mana to the best of their abilities.

The blue light, when it hits an opponent, causes them to briefly freeze. However, its effect depended on the user's magic stat. If the opponent's magic stat was higher, they wouldn't be affected.

The red light doubles the force of the attack, as simple as that, but effective nonetheless.

Lucas nodded slowly.

True to the Battle Mage philosophy, the Blue Blood Dojo has really fascinating techniques...

Unfortunately, only a few are interested in being battle mages, thus the Blue Blood Dojo will likely never leave its second-rate status unless they develop an A-Rank Hunter in their dojo.

Although being a Battle Mage was an incredibly powerful and versatile class, talent was also a huge factor.

When Hunters awaken, their stats typically lean toward a specific path. Either physical strength and agility for fighters, or high magical aptitude for mages.

However, some gifted individuals awaken with a balanced distribution, showing potential in both paths.

Thus, as early as when hunters awaken, their paths were already decided.

But nothing was entirely absolute.

The most rational path, was, of course, focusing your efforts on one specialization.

But mad people always exist in the world—those who think they can defy the world, despite their lack of talent.

The Blue Blood Dojo was filled with such madmen. People here were either quite gifted or quite abnormal in their heads.

Lucas mused, shaking his head.

That wasn't his problem, though. This dojo would just be his springboard to becoming strong, he was not going to create any attachments here...

Putting everything in the back of his mind, he focused on the technique again.

Advanced-level...

It didn't seem that hard as well.
