Chapter 22 Within a Wave of People

It started simply enough. Clearly her exes, judging me and longing for her. I couldn't say I blamed them if she left me I was sure I would pine for her till the day she died, but luckily for me she said she felt the same way and I had seen no reason to doubt her. After they left businessmen started to make the rounds and you could always tell which ones had been with Gisele by how they treated me. If the had been lucky enough to catch my girlfriends attention they would be overly sweet to me while there eyes never left Gisele. On the other hand if they had never had the pleasure it was almost the opposite flattering Gisele while probing me as if I somehow was now there chance to gain her favor. After that there was a crowd of rich spoiled kids who for whatever reason had never been in Gisele's inner circle. For the most part I could tell within the first meeting with each why she had disregarded each. My woman was exacting about her taste. Long before me there was little I could say to impeach her taste in partners. So I greeted them and as we were once again to change groups to be ushered through I told Gisele I needed a short break and a drink. She obliged me on both fronts and I downed a glass of punch and laid my head in her lap. She stroked my hair softly, and for a moment I let myself think maybe I could stay this way all night.

As I wait to set up so we could start again she held my head down, "Baby sis is next you can stay like this she'll be fine."

With that the door opened and a tall elegant blond woman walked in wearing a blood red gown with layers of frills and a matching hooded cape. I wondered how I could have missed her in the crowd. She glared at me with black calculating eyes. Her skin was porcelain white giving her a cold and detached feeling. It only lasted until she began to speak, "Dear sister, so this is the girl who stole your heart," she said a smile shattering her uncaring facade as she bounded over to Gisele. They hugged and as she pulled from her sister's embrace her sister looked at me, "Thank you. My sister was lost but the sister I've seen since she's been with you is all her best parts. She'll never tell you this, but when she was young my sister tried to date she was the most feverish of romantics. However between her beauty, wealth, and status, she was deceived over and over again and eventually she lost hope and became obsessed with the euphoria of the carnal side of her relationships. Not caring for the people around her at all. Most of my family stopped talking to her. I couldn't help, but see the broken and kind big sister I idolized growing up. Nor could I advert my eyes from the pain that tugged her into that world. So to see her now with you brings me so much joy. Shoot I'm Tina, you can call me baby sis though. That's what Gisele calls me and some day I think you'll be my big sis too."

"Thanks baby sis, I had never heard that story. I thought she had always been a party girl. So thank you for sharing. Is the bar nice? She dragged me straight here so I didn't really have a chance..."

"I see. It's quite lovely. Suites in namesake well," when she said this I turned a deep crimson and buried my head deeper in Gisele's lap, "Anyways it's much better than those skeezy dives designed to bring in masses of pretty people looking for nothing more than a good time. You know most of her friends have been escorted out already. They can't behave. Like rabid dogs," she spoke as though she was above it all, but there was also atone that was a mixture of admiration and love. I could tell she might be called baby sis, but she was clearly the judgmental older sister type.

"Wow you have quite the strong opinions on matters don't you?" I asked, repositioning myself in Gisele's lap so I could see Tina, "Don't get me wrong, I like that. So baby sis what do you make of me?"

"Well you make my sister happy. That in itself would be enough for me, but you also seem to be a good influence on her. She has broken up with all her other partners and has stopped casually hooking up altogether. She has arranged this gorgeous new venue in your honor. Harper told me she even attended more than fifty percent of the meetings for this place in person. If anything big sis I'd say your too good for middle sis," she said and then began to laugh. Gisele glared at her in response and I patted her knee comfortingly, "Well we will get to know each other soon I'm, but for now I better let you talk to all these other fine folks."

As she left I sat back up and this time Gisele made no attempt to stop me. For the next forty minutes it was media representatives looking for buzz worthy quotes. I was about ready to tell Gisele we needed to rap it up when she leaned into me and said, "You're doing great babe, only three people left, thank you for doing this with me."

So I sighed and patted her leg. This woman sometimes I wondered if she knew what she was doing. The next person was a short balding man who looked completely out of place in his best attempt at a suit and sweat running down his forehead, "It's a pleasure to meet you again Gisele. I was disappointed to hear that you would no longer honor our previous arrangement. I did very much enjoy the time spent on your bus."

"Harper told me you used your position to convince those young girls to do things women should never feel obligated to do. In truth you disgust me. You can thank Harper for your presence here. She said we invested so much into you it would be a shame to not get our money's worth. I asked her how much a woman's innocence was worth and I was relieved to learn that she kept you from any of the innocent girls and the ones you defiled would have went home with someone anyways. However I for one do not take that as an acceptable reason to let you off the hook, but Harper and every girl involved insists that if I said you to jail there sacrifice was for nothing. So enjoy all the invites you would like, continue doing a good job for us, but never appear in front of me or Jul again."

With that the man left and I felt the need for a shower, "Sorry love they only told me how many people we were seeing not who they were."

I understood all to well, we had to deal with unsavory people too. It's just how the big city worked. Next was a relatively forgettable woman who had little to say but let her eyes linger on me long enough for my feisty woman to have an opinion on the matter, "She is quite amazing is she? She's taken though, you know yes? I mean that's the boy for this lavish party so I can shout with all my might that I love this woman with all my heart and none she'll have her as long as I have a say."

"Sweetie you know the only woman I've ever been attracted to is you. So you're a bit feisty."

"You may be right dear, but something important for you to remember. Advice from a Moma lion, a predator cares not for how its prey feels. Love I'm not worried about you, but for you," God this woman I'm sure some would call her overbearing, but I was not one of them. She was right this was a whole new world and I had no idea what motivated people who believed they could do, say, have whatever they wanted. So I was truly grateful for her care and concern. Honestly to this day I have no idea what that woman said if she ever said anything but she left in short order.

The door opened to let the last visitor in. I could tell immediately they were special. It was a man with a toned athletic build. Same height as my Gisele and with the same eyes and hair. I would've known who it was in an instant if she hadn't insisted I'd only ever meet her baby sister.

"Gisele, it's been to long, but I'm glad you've chosen to be respectable. If only barely and with ever questionable taste," her brother began is condescending speech. Gisele got from the couch and tugged on my arm.

"Time for the toast so we can go home babe," she said, pushing past her brother, who looked at us with a dumbfounded expression. We made our way down stairs and he trailed behind. The toast was led by Gisele from the bottom of the stairs and amounted to little more than cheers, let's be successful. We exited immediately still being followed by her brother, but when we got to the car the driver approached the brother.

"Now is not the time Michael, perhaps I can convince her to make time for you next week. Have a good evening," with that he returned to the car and we drove off.

A woman's voice that seemed vaguely familiar to me came from a speaker in the headrest in front of us, "Sorry Gi Gi I should have veted the guests personally."

What an ending to an otherwise wonderful night. So we headed back to my place when it hit me. I had convinced her to stay over and what exactly was that going to mean for us?
