Chapter 6: The Sky Tore And Bled

A grimace came from one of the ladies as they inspected the wine. Before they could voice it out, they both fell unconscious on the posh sofas followed by a light trail of blood coming from their lips. And just like that, their lives came to an end.

However Crimson was extremely bothered given that her target had yet to succumb to the effects of the poison as he made his way to the glass balcony, the drink in his hand half full as he stared into the sky.

'I'm not sensing any mind tampering devices anywhere. He could be dead before his guards barge in. I guess I'll have to kill him myself.' Seeing that the poison wasn't taking effect, she opted to take matters into her own hands.

What halted her from killing him on the spot was the countermeasures that he would have against mutants given that he was capable of killing Cyrus. Standing up, she slowly made her way to Solon who had his back turned to her. She would have killed him a million times over however something in her heart told her to proceed with caution.

"I don't think that we know each other. My name's Solon and I take it that you're Crimson, or should I say Isabella." Solon started off, a small smile on his face as he still had his back turned to her. Crimson came to a standstill, her body tensing up.

In all her life, she had never felt something that unnerved her to such an extent. It was an equivalent of coming across a predator and she was prey. 'He's merely mortal. Why am I tensing up so much?' Her mind was in complete disarray as she chose to end his life on the spot.

"It's a shame that Ophelia met her end in such a tragic way." Solon mused out of the blue. Crimson by now was a few steps away from his figure. "If you already know who I am then ho are you so calm?" She asked before placing her arms onto the railing of the balcony.

Solon however didn't say anything as he shifted his attention from the dark starry sky to the beautiful beside him. However his face didn't project any form of longing or affection towards Crimson which made her pause.

"Do you believe in karma?" He went on however Crimson was getting rather tired of the mask that he put on. "No, provided you have the proper means then you should be above menial karmic retribution." The smile on Solon's face stretched further before a small chuckle escaped his lips.

"I know that you're here to kill me Crimson so I ask you. Are you here to serve my karma or here for you to serve your own karma?" Her eyes flashed red, a snarky smile on her face. "It's been a pleasure conversing to you however I have to end this conversation."

*Snap*

Unlike the image that she had pictured as Solon's head burst like a tomato under extreme pressure, he stood unbothered as he looked back at the sky once more. Crimson who was shocked as to how he remained perfectly fine was unaware of the red dot that hovered right on her forehead.

"I got you bitch!" Rafiq mused, a dangerous smirk on his face as his finger hovered right above the trigger. Given the clear shot that he had now, he would finally get to avenge his sister. Just as he was about to pull the trigger, something that even he hadn't expected occurred.

*BOOOOOM*

The sound was ear deafening echoing throughout the entire sky. Startled, he took a gaze only for him to see the sky itself fracture and crack into a million pieces like glass. Countless fractures of space could be seen and bizzare matter began to seep into the world that they were in.

Regardless of where anyone was, they would get to see the crack that only grew bigger. Crimson was shocked, her face finally showing a trace of fear in a long while Rafiq's breathe hitched before zooming back into the scope.

This time instead of taking the shot, he was baffled that Solon was looking directly at him and without hesitation pulled the trigger. The light whisper of the muzzle could be heard, it's destination headed for Crimson's head who was still caught in a trance of the sky unfolding.

"You shouldn't lower your guard in foreign environment, Miss Crimson." Solon urged as he stretched his arm right in front of her face and to her surprise, a bullet was lodged in between his index and his thumb. His smile ever present which unnerved her even more.

She quickly retreated back into the suite and grabbing a knife from the knife block and aimed it at Solon who remained fixed in place. He still had his back facing her unaware of what he was looking at.

'Shit! This isn't good!' Rafiq started disassembling his sniper as he realized that not only did Solon catch his bullet but he was directly looking at him. Rising to his feet, he clutched hard onto his case as he darted off the rooftop however his surroundings shifted.

As if transitioning from the dingy and murky rooftop to a lavish and posh suite. "What..?" Still in his state of disbelief, a heavy gravitational pull brought him to his knees crushing his kneecaps on the spot making him unable to walk.

"Argghh!!!" His screams echoed which startled Crimson who clutched the knife in her hand even harder. She had never met someone as strange or bizarre as Solon. 'Steven told me that he wasn't a mutant!' She cursed in her mind.

But recalling once more, his eyes weren't the usual shade of color designated for a mutant. They weren't golden, crimson, blue, grey or green. They were pure darkness, the kind of darkness that showed no form of life behind them.

"What are you?!" Her voice sharp and her gaze on his figure even sharper. She was skilled with all kinds of weapons thus using a knife to dispose Solon was viable. At least that was what she told herself but seeing the feats that he was capable of, she started to doubt herself.

'A mutant that can cancel other mutant skills. Maybe he's one of those few special classes. But he's portrayed various skills such as hyper mobility and teleportation. Just what is he?' Her mind couldn't wrap at what she was looking at. The more she contemplated about it, the less human he seemed.

"What am I? I don't know the answer to that question myself. A scourge to most, death that smiles to others, madness perfected however I've never found a fitting name given those that I face usually fall. Be it to insanity or death." Another chuckle followed suit, never once looking at her.

In a flash, she advanced towards his figure however instead of opposition, the knife plunged deep into his neck and blood followed endlessly like a fountain. But what unnerved Crimson was that his body didn't flinch at the slightest, as if a knife was embedded in his neck and his time to live was dimming.

Without hesitation, she twisted the knife and dragged it horizontally cutting his jugular before making a horizontal cut brushing across the spine exposing his marrow and creating a deep gash into his body. Her knife bathed in blood however throughout, he never once turned his head to face her or react at her actions.

Her face contorted into disbelief as she plunged the knife deep into his spine with swift grace and elegance till the blade of the knife was out of view and the knife lodged into his spine. And yet, he remained dormant with his attention locked onto the sky as the strange rainbow colored matter kept on dripping across the cracked sky and onto the clouds.

Realizing that physical harm didn't bother him, she opted to use her skill however nothing happened once more. A chill ran down her spine as she slowly backed away from his figure. Her senses told her to run away as far as she could and yet, the fear paralysed her body.

His clothes were now soaked in blood as the pool of blood kept on coalescing at his feet and yet he never addressed it. Rafiq who watches from the sides could tell that similar to Crimson, he had to get the hell out however the gravity that held his body in place and his fractured kneecaps refused him from as much as crawling let alone taking a step.

Her breathes grew more frantic, her demeanor slowly started crumbling as solon finally turned around. His smile still present however to the two, it came off as nightmarish. The way blood coated his body from the neck down and the smile that never left his lips felt more of a warning for them to run as far away from him.

He looked down and saw the pool of blood, his smile never faltering. "Ah, Isabella. This body means nothing to me. Even if you cut of my head, nothing will change or burnt it to ash." Crimson felt her scalp tingle.

However before she could make her exit and escape this demon, her body instead betrayed her and made her way to the sofa where the other two ladies were.

Their skin had now turned pale blue as their mouths remained open. It felt as if she was a prisoner inside her own body, her mind screaming to leave however her body remained perfectly still on the sofa next to Rafiq who had a small pool of blood on his knees.

As for Solon, he grabbed onto the knife embedded on his spine and instead of pulling it out, he dragged it horizontally across his waist which resulted with even more blood gushing out of his body. And yet he remained unfazed as he made his way to the counter and washed the knife.

Crimson's breathe similar to Rafiq's hastened as they wondered what next would occur. "I guess I won't be needing this."

*RIP*

With no effort, he ripped his shirt off exposing the mentally scarring jabs and cuts claiming his body. Much to the surprise of the two, the wounds decorating his body started closing. His flesh closed up and blood acted as a needle patching his body back to it's prime.

Solon made his way towards the sofa and sat opposite from the pair. In his hand the same wine Crimson had spiked as he poured three glasses and offered the pair to drink. "Isabella, Rafiq. I'm sure that tonight will be a night that you two won't forget but first, drinks."
