Chapter 5: Sweet slumber

"Let's show her where she'd stay!" Stella said excitedly and the rest of the girls nodded in agreement and as if already concluded, turned to look at Keira who, once again, blushed hard.

"Keira" Candice called in a sing-song voice "We haven't even said who she'd be rooming with and you're already flustered?" she teased and turned to Lilith "But anyway you'll be rooming with Keira."

"Okay... Lead the way" Lilith said with an awkward laugh. The tension between them still stuck to her like glue. The way they had made eye contact. The moment was well, interrupted, but it was enough to tell Lilith something she didn't expect...

'Like' she just got here. She couldn't just 'like' someone like that. And as she had no idea what they were themselves, she knew she couldn't just get involved.

The two stood up slowly

"Um, lets go" Sabrina snorted a laugh

"You two are hopeless" she said and the others laughed while the 'two' turned to glowing lightbulbs. Lilith grabbed Keira's hand, leaving the table. While leaving she could only grab the words "It's been so long Keira had someone to room with since Kelly"

Who's Kelly? she wondered, wanting to ask Keira but decided against it as she thought maybe it wasn't something the other girl would want to talk about.

Keira led her back to the living room and upstairs; six floors to be exact. She then opened the last door to the right and they both stepped in.

The room shimmered with an ethereal glow, as if bathed in moonlight even in daytime. Wisps of gossamer fabric—lavender, blush pink, and pale gold—hung gracefully from the ceiling, creating a soft canopy above the bed. Delicate vines wrapped around the posts, dotted with tiny blossoms that seemed to hum with life.

Crystal orbs floated gently in the corners, casting flickering lights that danced across the walls like silent fireflies. The floor was covered with a moss-like rug, lush and velvety underfoot, and scattered with rose petals in whimsical spirals.

On one side stood a vanity carved from twisted wood, its mirror framed by silver filigree that sparkled whenever a breeze passed through the open window. Shelves filled with curious trinkets—tiny perfume bottles, glittering stones, and glass jars of luminous dust—lined the walls.

A gentle scent of jasmine and rain lingered in the air, and from somewhere unseen came the faint, haunting notes of a harp. It was like a room not meant for sleep, but for dreams that danced just beneath reality.

"Whoa" Lilith gaped "I'll be staying here?" she asked surprised

"Yeah silly. Surprised?"

"You bet? this is ten times bigger than my house in my world" she stated, feeling the tension fade slowly.

"Really" Keira asked with wide eyes

"No shit" now the shorter only looked at her with confusion written all over her face. It took Lilith a while to realize that before stuttering out

"A-ah, it means I am for real" she said and mentally facepalmed. Keira nodded as her lips formed an 'o' shape.

"Well, I'll be right back. Gotta get you clothes right?"

"Ah thank you so much"

"That's alright, just make yourself at home"

"Alrighty" with that Keira left the room leaving Lilith to admire before sitting on the bed.

It had probably been over five minutes since Keira left so she was surely bound to get bored. She got up and left the room in an attempt – a failed one – to go back and somehow she ended up in another identical floor.

After much trials, she gave up and decided on finding the room she came from which she easily found. Or at least she thought she did. She sighed and opened the door only to freeze in her spot.

Goddamn... There on the floor after a supposed intense workout session was a guy –probably the hottest guy she had ever laid her eyes on– sweating and panting in only sweats which did absolutely nothing to hide a certain unmentionable. He stood, or in her case, laid tall at 6"2, probably about 24 with slightly damp black curly hair, cold black eyes, the sexiest tan muscular skin, well defined abs, biceps flexing with each movement. In other words, he was the definition of 'real sexy' she almost drooled. In one second he was on the floor a few feet away from her, in the next he was right in front of her closing her delicate lips that begged its owner to jump and kiss the man in front of her. She immediately snapped out, seeing their close proximity and her face turned bright red from embarrassment and that she was flustered.

"Oh, um... I think I got the wrong room. I'm s-sorry" she stuttered, and he smiled. Charming.

"That's fine. By the way you seem new" she nodded and he continued "Well I'm Christopher, you can call me Chris. Nice to meet you..." he trailed as if asking for her name.

"A-ah, I'm Lilith"

"Lilith" he said softly as if tasting it "beautiful name. I can tell you got lost, are you looking for someone?" he asked and she decided she was going to ignore the compliment "Y-yeah, Keira" he nodded muttering something that sounded like 'that sunshine. no wonder whatever she finds is pretty' causing Lilith to blush again.

"Well come on, Let me guess you're rooming with her?" she nodded once again and he started walking suddenly wearing clothes and she fell right behind him.

She was so lost staring at his back, not realizing they had arrived at their destination until her face met with his solid back.

"Ouch" she mumbled quietly "Are you made out of stone?" she mumbled mostly to herself and jumped when he chuckled.

"Here we are" he said and she looked ahead of him watching as Keira was looking around, probably wondering where she went.

"Keira." Chris said "I believe you're looking for your friend" Lilith peeked from his back and waved awkwardly.

"Oh thank goodness. There you are" she said with her hands on her cheeks.

"I wandered off and got lost, I'm sorry-"

"It's alright. You apologize a lot" Keira said with a chuckle

"Oh I'm so- so- alright" they all laughed.

"You need a shower." Keira randomly said

"Yeah I do.." 'how did you know I did' she completed in her head.

"Thanks Chris" Keira appreciated before pulling Lilith inside, closing the door. "Here, pick anyone" she said pushing some- a lot of clothes into Lilith's arms. Surprisingly, they all looked like they fit. She thought, going with the blue knit sweater and washed skinnny jeans paired with a cut pair of sandals. "The bathroom's over there." Keira pointed out and Lilith nodded and opened the door immediately enveloped in the smell of Lavender and goodness. It took all in her not to fall right there. The bathroom was big. Just as big as her ENTIRE HOUSE in the other world. She quickly took a bath, wore her fit and left the room. Keira turned to look at her and feigned surprise "WOW they fit" Lilith nodded looking at herself in a full length mirror at a corner.

"Thanks again" Keira hummed and then perked up "Great! we're having lunch now. You still have some space in your tummy, right?" she asked and Lilith nodded

"I'd never say no to good food" the two giggled. "Let's go then"

Keira, with ease, led them back downstairs and into the dining which was half filled up with different and new faces. Keira led them to the edge of the table where she instantly recognized the girls. The two took a seat and Lilith realized Christopher was not at the table so she nudged Keira gently. She hummed

"where is Christopher" she asked and Keira shrugged turning to the rest of the girls "Where are the wolves?"

"Their at training" Catherine responded leaving Lilith more confused.

"So you mean Christopher is a werewolf?" Keira nodded "Whoa... no wonder"

"Yeah he's the head of their lil' pack"

"Oh..." they continued conversing until their food arrived. Once again, Keira was picking at her food which was made up of mainly grass (sorry to say. I love grass). Lilith frowned and picked a piece of meat from her own plate and placing it in the other girl's plate, whispering so only Keira would hear her "Eat, for me." with a small smile and Keira nodded slowly letting out a shaky breath before bringing to food to her mouth. Lilith let their knees touch and that? that was enough motivation for her.

And by the time she was done, that weird feeling was absent. Keira smiled at Lilith who mirrored her expression

"Good"

They all said their good byes to their groups and strolled back to their rooms. The two got to their rooms and fell on their various beds.

"What a long day" Lilith muttered thinking back to the events of the day and Keira hummed. "Goodnight Keira"

"Goodnight Lilith" and they drifted off to a sweet slumber..
