One

Tears escape Jessica's eyes as she stands in her boyfriend's room watching him and her best friend having sex. She had always had a feeling that Jeremy was cheating on her with someone, but she didn't know that person would be her best friend since Kindergarten.

They're so engrossed in their deep level of intimacy that they don't even notice that someone has walked through the door and is standing before them, which is what hurts the most about all this. It means one thing: they like each other and they've been wanting to have sex with each other for the longest time.

Everything is a blur to Jessica because tears are in her eyes. But at the same time, she can see clearly.

Renee's ass is up as Jeremy fucks her from behind. They moan, enjoying the sexual tension. Jessica thought if Jeremy were having sex with one person, it would be her. Not her best friend.

She's always been a shy girl who doesn't like confrontation, but something in her wants to lash out, wants to scream and do something to hurt them both. But she can't because she doesn't like confrontation. She just wants to leave and disappear.

She turns around, but she accidentally hits her leg on the wall, which makes a sound that causes both Jeremy and Renee to look behind them.

"Shit!" Jeremy shouts.

"Oh my God, oh my God, oh my God." Renee panics when she sees her best friend just standing over there. She jumps out of bed, and so does Jeremy, and they're dressing up as quickly as they took their clothes off.

Jessica doesn't want to hear what they have to say, so she walks away from them, walking as fast as she can toward the door so she can escape them and never see them again.

"Jessica, Jessica, Jessica, wait." Jeremy tries to hold her hand, but Jessica pulls away from them.

"Leave me alone!" she yells, and the two are taken aback because Jessica doesn't like yelling at people. She doesn't like being angry. Right now, they're face to face with someone different, someone who looks like she's about to start killing people.

"How-" she cries some more, but she wipes the tears off her face. "How long has this been going on?" She asks, she just has to know so that she'll know the next steps to take.

Jeremy and Renee exchange looks. Renee is in tears and Jessica doesn't understand why she's crying. She's not the one who got cheated on; she is.

"Jessica, please," Jeremy says slowly.

"Just answer the God damn question," she says, and they're taken aback once more. She's using words she's never used before. Which means she's pissed, she's pissed.

"Two-two weeks," Renee answers, her lips quivering, her body shaking. She knows she has fucked up, and she knows Jessica will never forgive her ever again.

"Two weeks." She says in a whisper, tears keep rolling down her cheeks. She nods, understanding that it's all been a lie. Jeremy tells her that he loves her, and Renee is her best friend.

All a lie.

"You two have a nice life." She turns around to leave.

"Jessica." Jeremy tries to grab her hand. But Jessica retrieves it.

"Don't touch me." She snaps and then she gives them a nasty look before leaving the apartment. She goes straight to her car, wiping the tears away. She doesn't want them back, but they keep coming anyway. She doesn't want to cry, not for these people; they don't deserve her tears.

She gets into the car and starts it so she can leave immediately. She doesn't want to be here, and she doesn't think she'll ever come back here. Ever again, she's done.

A loud thud on the car shakes her up, and she looks to her right to see Jeremy's hands on the car. Renee's right behind him, crying those crocodile tears.

"Jessica, please don't do this. Please let's talk." Jeremy cries.

"There's nothing to talk about! Leave me alone!"

"Jessica, please." She doesn't care. She doesn't want to hear him speak anymore because the more he speaks, the more she gets super emotional. So she starts the car and zooms off. She can hear Jeremy calling her from a distance.

So, yes, that is the end of the relationship, forever and ever. She doesn't want to see either one of them. She is done with them for good.

It's such a shame because she loved them, and she thought that they loved her too. She feels so stupid right now.

At least she did think they cared about her. Especially when they were there for her after her mom's death. But that was a long time ago. When she was seventeen, in her senior year.

Her phone begins to ring, and she picks it up to answer, but it's Jeremy. Renee is leaving her a bunch of messages. She shakes her head in disgust. She's not going to answer them. She's done with them forever.

HONK!

HONK!

"Hey, watch the road!" An angry New Yorker screams at her. he doesn't know that the woman behind the wheel is suffering from a broken heart. She's distracted, and she's done with being distracted. She's done with the calls, the messages. She's done with these people. So she reaches for her phone on the other side of the seat.

She looks for the block button to block both of them. This is the first step she's going to take in ending the relationship she has with both of them.

She doesn't look at the road while she looks for the block button to restrict them from calling and texting her.

A large truck runs over the car, and it goes stumbling and spinning. The glass kisses her skin and pierces through it like she were made of cotton. She hits her head over and over while her car hits other cars, damaging and hurting other people.

The accident kills her.

She's dead because of a broken heart.

The ambulance comes quickly to try to revive her because she still has a little pulse. But it's too late, she's gone, she's dead. And even she knows she's dead because there's a myth that once you die, you begin to remember all the things you've done while you were alive on earth.

From the time she was a kid to when she was a teen to early adulthood.

She remembers the first day she and Renee met, and she remembers the first time Jeremy confessed his feelings to her when they were juniors in high school. It was like something out of a Hollywood movie.

The shy girl and the popular bad boy.

But what happens after the shy girl gets with the popular guy? Do they get a happily ever after, or does the shy girl get cheated on? Leading to her death.

The doctors can't save her. Jessica Humphrey is gone forever.

And just like all the people who have died in the hospital. They pull the plug and they cover her whole body. And they shake their heads at how they couldn't save a young girl from dying.

Young people aren't allowed to die. Some doctors might say, but then it's part of life.

Jessica Humphrey has given up the ghost.

But not for long.

Because a tall, handsome stranger sneaks into her room and removes the cloth from her body, and he looks down at her with those beautiful light brown eyes. He places his hand on her cheek and admires how even when she's all bruised and has received cuts on her skin, she still looks beautiful.

A black beauty.

Like a fairytale, the stranger plants a kiss on her lips, giving her his life, lending her his soul. And just like a fairytale, the kiss brings her back to life.

Jessica Humphrey is back.

But not as a human.
