Jorge stood at the window of his office, staring at the skyline without really seeing it. The meeting with Xavier and Caleb had left him frustrated and out of options. Neither Elara Vance nor Julian Croft would budge on the YodaVision collaboration.
"Damn it," he muttered, slamming his hand against the glass.
His assistant's voice came through the intercom. "Mr. Mendez? Is everything alright?"
"Fine," he snapped. "Hold all my calls."
He walked back to his desk and sank into his chair. The YodaVision deal was supposed to be his big achievement—the project that would finally make his father look at him with something other than disappointment.
Jorge ran his fingers through his hair. There was one option left, the one he'd been avoiding. He could call his father, Theodore Newman.
The thought made him grimace. Theodore had built Newman Technologies from nothing into a tech empire. Jorge, despite his executive title, knew he was still viewed as the heir who hadn't earned his place.
