A Final Stroke of the Pen, An Enigmatic Roadside Meeting

Elara Vance's POV

The pen felt heavy in my hand as I stared at the final document in front of me. One signature, and another chapter of my life would officially come to an end.

"Are you sure about this, Elara?" Jason Payne asked, his eyes studying my face carefully.

I nodded, my resolve firm. "Absolutely."

Without hesitation, I signed my name on the line. The ink flowed smoothly across the paper, sealing my decision. Seven years of marriage, finalized with a simple stroke of a pen.

Jason collected the papers, arranging them neatly in a folder. "I'll handle everything from here. You don't need to worry about a thing."

"When will you contact Damien?" I asked, my voice steady despite the weight of the moment.

"I'll call him as soon as you leave," Jason replied. "From what his lawyers have told me, he's ready to sign whenever you are."

Of course he was. Damien had been waiting for this moment, probably counting the days until he could officially move on with Vivienne.
