I scrolled through the endless list of invitations on my tablet, feeling a mixture of amusement and irritation. Julian sat across from me in my office, his expression mirroring mine as he reviewed his own list.

"Thirty-two year-end banquet invitations," I said, setting the tablet down. "That's a new record."

Julian smirked. "Thirty-seven on my end. I see Norton Industries made sure to include your name specifically on theirs."

"So did ApexSphere," I noted dryly. "And the Dubois family. How transparent."

"They're all hoping to court us for the CUAP technology," Julian said. "Funny how they don't realize they're trying to court you for something you created."

I couldn't help but smile. It was indeed ironic. For years, I'd been invisible in these same social circles, merely Dylan Norton's quiet wife. Now, my name carried weight and power of its own.

"Which ones are we accepting?" Julian asked.
