I stared at the presentation on my screen, reviewing the data for what felt like the hundredth time. The YodaVision team had been working around the clock on our latest project, and as the deadline loomed, I found myself buried in code and analytics.

"Catherine," Julian called from the doorway of my office. "The team needs your input on the neural network parameters."

"I'll be there in five," I replied without looking up.

My phone buzzed on the desk. I glanced at it briefly – Norton Manor. My heart clenched, but I ignored it. This was the third call today. I knew Cora had returned from her trip with Clara, but I simply couldn't face them right now. Not when I was finally making progress, finally being recognized for my work rather than as Dylan Norton's quiet, inconsequential wife.

The phone stopped buzzing, then started again almost immediately.
