The Missing Welcome

Chapter 268 - The Missing Welcome

I couldn't stop bouncing in my seat as Daddy drove us home from the airport. My trip with Grandma Clara had been amazing, but I was so excited to see everyone again, especially Mommy.

"Daddy, do you think Mommy's going to like the shell necklace I got her?" I asked, clutching the small gift bag on my lap.

Daddy glanced at me in the rearview mirror. "I'm sure she'll love anything from you, princess."

Vivienne turned from the passenger seat and smiled at me. "It's beautiful, Coco. You picked the perfect colors."

I beamed at her compliment. Vivienne always knew the right thing to say. She looked so pretty today in her cream-colored dress, like a movie star.

"I got presents for everyone," I announced proudly. "Even for Great-Grandma Eleanor. Grandma Clara helped me pick them out."

"That was thoughtful of you," Daddy said.
