Jax's POV
My wolf wasn't happy. Antsy and agitated, he prowled beneath my skin as I stepped out of the SUV, stretching my cramped muscles.
The journey had been uncomfortably long, and this destination wasn't what any of us expected. In front of us stood a dilapidated storage shed, its weathered wood gray and rotting in places. The surrounding area was overgrown with weeds, untended for what looked like years.

Liam groaned, stretching his arms above his head. "After six hours in that car, I was hoping for something a bit more... substantial."
Orion remained silent, his eyes scanning the perimeter with practiced vigilance. Even Silas looked unimpressed, kicking at the gravel with the toe of his shoe.
Inside the SUV, Sera hadn't moved. I could see the rigid set of her shoulders, the tight grip she maintained on the steering wheel. Irritation radiated from her in palpable waves.
And then it hit me.
