The crowd made way for the doctors and nurses tacitly, as the pregnant woman's life was of utmost importance. The attending doctor was a thirty-year-old obstetrician. She did not have time to pant as she ran over.
She quickly arranged her medical tools in a row. When the obstetrician went forward to check on the pregnant woman, she was taken aback. She could no longer hear a heartbeat.
"Resuscitate... adrenaline shot..." she ordered.
Another young male doctor ran forward to resuscitate the pregnant woman hurriedly.
However, the pregnant woman's heartbeat had stopped. The CPR was futile and their attempts at defibrillation were in vain as well. The doctor checked the pregnant woman's pupils before he shook his head helplessly. "I'm sorry," he said.
"Doctor, my daughter-in-law is pregnant with twins. Could you at least save them?" the pregnant woman's mother-in-law bawled through her tears.
