There happened to be a small stove in the thatched cottage. On top of the stove was a jug of liquid along with some vegetables and rice.
Jacob fetched some water, lit the gas, and began to cook in that narrow space.
Queenie sat on the small bed as she watched Jacob cook. Although Jacob's cooking skills were not considered spectacular, it was still not something that ordinary people could compare with. There was a fishpond outside the thatched cottage, and Jacob somehow managed to acquire a foot-long fish. He skillfully removed its scales and slit its stomach. In less than two minutes, the fish was cleaned.
