"This child seems rather mature," Queenie stopped in her tracks and looked at the pair of sisters with interest.
"Children who grew up poor tend to be more mature than the rich children," Jacob said.
"How do you know they are poor?" Queenie asked back.
"It's simple. I used to be poor too. I lived with my mother and she had to ask around for my tuition fee. It was a few hundred dollars," Jacob said.
"I never heard you mention your father," Queenie asked thoughtfully.
"You should have already looked into me. I grew up with a single mother. I don't want to mention that man," Jacob said.
Queenie stared at Jacob, trying to read his expression. Suddenly, she realized something, Jacob's appearance reminded her of someone familiar.
"Your surname is Ye..." Queenie suddenly trembled at her thoughts.
"It's not new that you know that my surname is Ye," Jacob smiled wryly.
Jacob was startled and gave a wry smile. He knew that Queenie figured out who he was.
