Yosef had told her that Jacob had something to settle; that was why he went out, and he promised that he would return before the date of her engagement. Rosalie felt resentful towards Jacob's departure.
She didn't know what could be more important to Jacob than herself. She didn't understand why he couldn't wait for half a month before doing whatever he needed to do.
The door opened. Yosef walked in with a dejected expression. Rosalie's heart sank when she saw him. She knew that Yosef hadn't heard anything from Jacob yet.
Since Jacob went to a remote place this time, there would bound to be no cell phone signal. It made her worried as she wasn't able to get in touch with him.
"How's it going? Did you call him?" She asked in a hurry.
Yosef felt a little depressed and said, "No, my phone was never connected. Hence, I turned it off later. Rosalie, what do you think happened to Jacob?"
