Carissa was stunned and looked at Henry in disbelief. He had commanded for her to leave.
Although she wasn't well-known, she was still a member of the upper class. Did Henry really not care about her pride at all?
"Mr. Ye, Mrs Li, the two of you will be exempted from our expenses here today. This chalcedony is now yours." Henry no longer paid attention to Carissa and turned to Jacob and Irene.
Carissa was taken aback. She then realized Henry's attitude seemed strange as he was being respectful toward the young couple.
That was impossible. Henry was a wealthy businessman and had an incomparable status in Garvila. Why should someone like him be so deferential to a young lad? Why should he be afraid?
Losing pride was not a big deal. She had to figure out who on earth these two people were and why Henry would value them so greatly.
