Chapter 1965 Why Did He Kill?

They were on the fifth floor. A prolonged silence ensued before Jacob heard a loud thud downstairs. It was followed by the sound of police sirens and exclamations in the crowd. 

After all this, Jacob remained nonchalant as though what he had done was something insignificant. He gave a condescending sneer before he spun around and left the scene. The bar was fully ablaze a moment later. 

Leaving no traces of his arrival, Jacob drew a deep breath. This was just his first step to revenge. 

It was not until Irene awakened his inner being did realization dawned on him that the woman, whom he had met by chance, was once someone important to him in life. Her only purpose in this lifetime was to meet him once. She had been waiting for him all this while.

Jacob believed that if Irene told him the truth about Phoebe, revealing that she would die once she met him, he would have stopped the tragedy from occurring by hook or by crook.
