Michael said without any expression, "I have no parents, only a grandfather and a younger sister as my two relatives."
Lohith replied, "Young master, you must be joking. No matter how powerful a Cultivator is in this world, it is impossible to be without parents. If one has no parents, did they somehow leap out of a stone?"
Michael answered, "They gave birth to me but did not raise me. What's the difference between them being alive or dead? If they are dead, there is nothing to be said; if they are alive, they are not worthy of being parents. Why should I find them?"
Lohith looked at Michael's expression. Although his face was calm, Lohith perceived that his inner emotional turbulence was not small.
"Do you perhaps hope more that they are already dead?"
Michael frowned and did not respond.
Suddenly, Lohith understood. Michael did not hope that his parents were dead, but he obviously had some unresolved emotions about the parents who had "abandoned" him.
