KADE’S POV
‘Wake up, sleepy head.’
My eyes flew open at the sound of the voice—the one I hadn’t heard in what seemed like forever.
‘Jaxon?’
My wolf huffed. ‘So you recognize my voice. Did you even miss me?’
I sat up—and immediately regretted the movement when pain ricocheted in my skull.
‘Woah, easy.’
I groaned, grabbing my head. “What happened?” I asked.
The last thing I remembered was downing two bottles of whiskey, and then running into…my grandfather?
‘I don’t know,’ Jaxon answered. ‘For the last couple of days, I’ve felt…trapped. I couldn’t talk or move or do anything and I had to watch that other beast manipulate you.’
My frowned deepened. Fenrath.
Had my grandfather done something to silence Fenrath? How had he even known about him?
I couldn’t feel him anymore. And all that rage and bloodlust and antagonism was just…gone.
