ANDREA’S POV
I perched on the edge of the bathtub with a sigh.
Kade leaned against the door, and I couldn’t help but feel that he was trying to get as far away from me as possible.
Tension hung in the room like a thick cloud, and I never understood the oxymoron ‘deafening silence’ until now.
But I knew how this worked. When I locked my parents in the closet, I didn’t let them out until they talked and apologized to each other.
So, I knew what I had to do.
I took a deep breath and opened my mouth. “I—”
“I’m sorry.”
I looked up at Kade in surprise. I was the one who needed to apologize. Why was he saying sorry?
I shook my head. “What do you have to be sorry for?”
He sighed heavily. “Everything. Everything I did that made you not trust me.”
I stood to my feet. “What makes you think I don’t trust you?”
