Chapter 6: What he saw

Early morning.

The sun has just risen.

The players still haven't seen it since the game began.

Some never will.

A new day.

New dates.

New Confessions.

And–

Action.

The whole vibe has changed since Player 5's Confession.

The Audience liked it.

Because it shook the game, and made the next two days feel like a ticking bomb.

DAY 2 DATES:

Date 1: Player 4 × Player 8

Date 2: Player 1 × Player 3

Confession: Player 4

Date Room 1:

The setup feels uncomfortable, no personality.

Hollow.

Player 8 was on time — 10:00 sharp.

Scared.

Clueless.

Still lost from last night's Confession.

The drink of the Date was tea.

Warm. Sweet. Just like Player 4.

Then–

She walks in, Player 4, in a hurry.

Scared of P8.

She was contemplating not coming.

P8 is probably the murderer after all and a Murder is about to happen.

She figured she had no choice.

So she prayed, then came.

The room smelled faintly of processed chamomile.

She sat down.

Eyes met, she was shaking, he was anxious.

P8: "I don't know what P5 — the Lawyer — was talking about yesterday.

I never said I was the Murderer.

But even if I was, I would not kill anyone."

She felt no relief from that.

P4: "Wouldn't anyone with that role say that?"

P8: "How can I prove my innocence then?"

P4: "Show me your badge"

P8: "You know I can't do that. But yes I have to kill someone to pass, but I believe I'll find another way to survive."

"Of course he'd say that. Why isn't he acting as scared as he was yesterday?" P4 thought.

She stayed quiet for a moment. Then—

She started putting things together.

"He was here before me. There's a drink on the table.

Violence is not allowed.

And he's acting friendly…

like he's reading a script."

"Could he have poisoned the tea?

Will he kill me now?

What should I do?

Should I scream?"

She realized no one would come to help her.

She didn't touch the tea for the rest of the Date.

P4: "I'm sorry, but I can't trust you.

I'm scared of you.

Maybe you're a good guy… but everyone puts themselves first.

So we can stop talking.

And if you meant what you said—

you won't do anything to me on this date, or for the next four days."

P8: "Understood."

He said nothing for the remaining three minutes.

At exactly 10:10, she left.

Fast.

Like she had just escaped murder.

"He was so hollow it was scary.

Maybe P5 told him to act like that,"

she thought as she walked away.

P8 left soon after.

Understanding her fear.

He walked to his room, wondering what she'd say during tonight's Confession.

"Will she call me out for our date?

I did nothing wrong."

Meanwhile, in the next room.

Its 10:00.

The drink is coffee.

Cold.

The room was also cold.

The air, stiff.

More cameras than usual.

Date 2: P1 x P3.

Player 1 — The Spy — arrives first.

Conscious. Alert.

He scans the cameras.

He sits.

Takes a breath.

Takes a sip.

Too strong.

He adds sugar.

Then—

Player 3 enters.

The Detective.

Breathing hard.

Eyes darting.

He checks the room, then sits.

P1: "Hey… are you okay buddy?"

Small relief.

P3: "Thanks for asking, not so much."

"Can I trust you?"

P1: "Absolutely.

I know this game wants us to feel alone—

but I can try to help."

"He seems hopeless.

I don't think he'll backstab me." P1 thought.

P1: "Here—let me show you my badge. So you know I'm not a threat."

*shows badge*

The Spy:

Goal: Identify each alive player's role, report it on the last day.

Quirk: Has the ability to turn Invisible for 9 minutes(Thrice).

P3: "I see, then in that case"

He shows his badge too, to help him, and as a sign of trust.

The Detective:

Goal: Discover three players' quirks.

Quirk: Can see every room at once—but cannot hear for 9 minutes (twice).

P3: "Your goal seems easy if you pay attention."

P1: "Smart players bluff, so I only know your goal for sure"

"Yesterday, before we even introduced ourselves—

you had a strong reaction. Like you saw a ghost."

"Did you use your quirk?"

P3: "...Yes"

His biggest mistake.

P1: "What did you see?"

"Can I even tell him?" he thought.

P3: "Before I tell you that—

remember what P5 said during the Confession:

The target has already been chosen.

The System knows.

The Audience knows."

P1: "You think you're the target.

That's why you're scared."

P3: "Yeah.

I wasn't supposed to see what I saw.

That's why I shouldn't tell you."

He's not protecting himself.

He's protecting him.

P1: "So.. what can I do to help you."

P3: "Tomorrow might be my last day.

Don't get involved.

But for the sake of the others—

Follow me.

Use your quirk. Stay hidden.

Watch who does it, and how.

Gather everything."

"Whatever happens—

don't show yourself."

P1: "Can't we talk to the others?

You don't have to die."

He means it.

He wants friends—alive.

P3 smiled, lightly, it was the first time.

But then realisation hit—

P3: "I'm already dead"

"So don't make my death pointless."

They just met, less than 10 minutes ago.

Yet P1 is crying beneath the mask.

P3: "It's fine friend.

You go and survive for me."

The Date ends.

P1 stands first.

Head down.

Silent.

He walks to the door.

Then–

P3: "Win."

"Win for me."

"Beat this corrupt system—

and survive to tell my story."

P1 turned around.

One last time.

P1: "I will."

P3 finishes the cold coffee.

Stands.

Stares up at the cameras.

Then turns—

and leaves.
