Chapter 36: The True Spider-Man

After comforting Irene for a while, Jimmy and Karen also visited Peter's uncle briefly before leaving together with Peter and the others.

Since that day, Jimmy and Karen's relationship had been rapidly heating up, and Peter and Gwen's relationship had also started to change in a special way. Over the past week, Jimmy and Peter trained together every morning, worked on the web shooters at noon, visited the two patients at the hospital after school, and at night, Jimmy would accompany Karen while Peter transformed into Spider-Man to fight criminals.

Today was Saturday, the thirteenth day since Jimmy had arrived in the Amazing Spider-Man world. Early that morning, Peter called Jimmy out.

"What's going on?!" Jimmy asked as he arrived in front of a building more than twenty stories tall, looking at Peter who was standing there in his Spider-Man suit with his back to him.

"Hehe, master, I've got a surprise for you!" Peter turned around excitedly, but his foot slipped, and he fell.

"Holy—!" Jimmy shouted in shock, rushing to the edge. Just as he got there, he saw Peter, mid-fall, flick his wrist. A web shot out from Peter's wrist, instantly sticking to a nearby building. Peter swung forward, then shot another web from his other hand, quickly moving back and forth between buildings.

"Yo-ho!" Peter's voice suddenly came from behind Jimmy. When Jimmy turned around, he saw Peter hanging there on a web, grinning proudly.

"How about it? Cool or what!" Peter asked smugly. Jimmy rushed up to him and shouted, "Where's mine!!"

"Uh!" Seeing Jimmy's anxious face, Peter quickly pulled two web shooters out of his backpack and handed them to him.

"Good!" Jimmy nodded. He quickly stripped off his clothes, revealing a black bodysuit underneath. After strapping on the web shooters and putting on his gloves and hood, a black Spider-Man was born.

Jimmy took a moment to calm his excitement. Standing at the edge of the building, looking down at the dozens of meters below, he finally gathered the courage to jump. "Wooooah!" Jimmy screamed, then extended his right hand, pressing his middle and ring fingers toward his wrist. A red flash lit up on the shooter, and a web shot out instantly, sticking to a building.

"Wooooah!" Jimmy cheered wildly, swinging forward with momentum. As he started to lose speed, he extended his left hand, pressed again, and shot another web, propelling himself forward once more. Just then, Peter swung past him with a playful scream.

"Damn it!" Jimmy yelled, annoyed, and hurried to chase after Peter.

That day, many New Yorkers saw two Spider-Men swinging through the skyscrapers one after the other…

On top of one building, now calm, Jimmy leaned against a wall and quietly said to the equally calm Peter, "Alright, Peter, I'm going to get some web fluid."

"Oh! From Oscorp?" Peter asked with a laugh.

"Of course not, I'm buying it!" Jimmy snorted. Then, he pulled a black suit out of his spatial ring, quickly put it on with a smile, and started walking downstairs. Peter just shrugged and stared at Oscorp's building across the street, lost in thought.

Jimmy took the elevator down and headed to Oscorp, just across the street.

When he arrived, the receptionist quickly stood up and asked, "Hello, sir, how can I help you today?"

"Oh! I'm here to buy some of those genetic bio-cables," Jimmy replied cheerfully.

"Alright! I'll contact our manager right away!" she said with a bright smile. Soon after, Jimmy was invited to the manager's office for tea.

It was still that same white American manager, who smiled and asked, "Mr. Jimmy, how much bio-cable would you like to purchase this time?"

Jimmy smiled slightly and said, "I'm planning to buy about five hundred thousand dollars' worth for initial trials back home. If things go well, someone will come to sign a long-term contract for bulk purchases." Hearing this, the manager looked thrilled and exclaimed, "Thank you so much!" Ever since the bio-cable launched, sales had been poor, and they'd stockpiled a large amount without being able to move it.

After paying, Jimmy looked helplessly at the three large boxes of web fluid. He hadn't expected it to be so cheap… But it would surely get more expensive in the future.

Jimmy hired someone to deliver the goods to his usual hotel, then continued wandering around Oscorp. In fact, his true goal this time was the genetic serum. Soon, Jimmy found Dr. Connors, the Lizard, who was talking with an Indian scientist. On the surface, Jimmy seemed to be curiously looking around, but he was actually eyeing a device labeled "3."

Jimmy's eyes narrowed. After memorizing the location, he left Oscorp, planning to steal the Lizard serum that night.

After leaving Oscorp, Jimmy began wandering the streets aimlessly. He felt small and lost. In just seventeen days, he would have to leave this world. But he found himself reluctant to go. Was it because of Karen? Jimmy stared at his reflection in a shop window, deep in thought.

He didn't know what would happen to Peter, Gwen, and Karen after he left this world…

Jimmy shook his head, feeling more and more at a loss. With vacant eyes, he walked into an alley. Two thugs came from the opposite direction and immediately noticed Jimmy's distracted state. They exchanged glances, and the taller one deliberately bumped into him.

"Hey man, you bumped into me!" the tall thug growled, blocking Jimmy's way. Jimmy looked at them coldly and asked, "What do you want?"

"Hehe, you probably got some cash on you, huh?" the shorter thug said with a wicked grin.

"Oh, I do. But I'm not giving it to you," Jimmy replied coldly. "Oh? You wanna taste my fist instead?" The thug threatened, swinging his fist at Jimmy.

Jimmy immediately reached out and grabbed the thug's fist. "Ahh!" The thug screamed in pain, feeling as if his hand was about to be crushed. The other thug, seeing his partner in agony, swung at Jimmy's face, but Jimmy grabbed his fist as well.

"Ahhh!" That thug also screamed. The two collapsed to the ground, trembling and begging Jimmy for mercy.
