013: A Demi-human

The young fox girl looked at Alice carefully. She clearly didn't expect to meet a very young succubus in this kind of place. Moreover, Succubus rumoured to be very difficult to mother a child due to their unique physiology.

'This lo—I mean, little succubus must be a child of a high rank succubus in this village. She is well dressed and didn't have any foul smell of semen on her person. But, is that even possible though? Oh, well, none of my business.'

On the other hand, Alice couldn't stop looking at the fox girl's cute ears and her fluffy tail. Completely enchanted by the fox girl's anatomy.

Half of her body was covered in dense, yet soft fur. It wasn't evenly spread, Instead, soft, silken fur swept across key parts of her body in asymmetrical patterns such as arms, legs, shoulders, and perhaps her back as well.

Alice wasn't quite sure either but she could tell that the front part of the fox girl's torso wasn't covered in fur and it was smooth with a nice tone. Her chest still had some growing to do, but they were sizable for her age.

Although she had humanoid form, her facial features were still resembling that of a fox. She had a snout and small, pointy nose. Her eyelids were small, making her look somewhat sleepy.

Alice didn't expect that she would meet a literal furry, in the flesh!

"Dear customer? Are you alright?" The young vendor waved her hand before Alice's face.

Alice snapped to reality. "Oh! Right, I'm sorry! Can you sell me those trousers and clothes?"

"Erm… Are you sure? They are used goods, selling those dirty clothes to a cute girl like you is a little bit…"

"I don't mind at all. Besides, they are for training, it will get dirty in one way or another."

Ruffling Alice's red hair, the fox girl giggled wryly. "Alright, I will pick them up for you."

She received the pair of trousers and long sleeve shirt soon after. Alice could see some dark spots on them as if they had survived a burned house. Alice glanced at the other clothes and goods, they were charred in the same manner. Alice was guessing that they were stolen, but no thief would sell damaged items unless they were desperate.

"Pray tell, where did you get these? Ah! It's alright if you don't want to talk about it, I'm just curious."

The fox girl answered right away. "I scavenged them from the burned villages and small Beastkind settlement in the Great Jungle as I travelled here. By the goddess, those humans would kill anything to capture more lands and feed like a plague. Even the Great Jungle is now surrounded by the Holy Church's forces."

'Great Jungle? That's ten thousand miles away from here! Which means, she has been wandering from the Far East Archipelago for years to finally settle here. She's also still very young, around 15 years old or so, apparently."

"I know, it must be disappointing to see those charred marks. I just arrived here a week ago, I haven't had the opportunity to replenish my supplies with new and fresh goods. Moreover, it's hard for a demi-human like me to build partnerships with other merchants and clients due to my… you know, my physical trait."

"I think you are cute! A-and very charming! In fact, I'd really love to touch your…t-tail."

The fox girl giggled to hear such an innocent request. "If only you would tell me your name. You know, in the Fox Spirit culture, only friends and families are allowed to touch their tail."

"My name is Alice, and you?"

"You may call me, Momo!"

"Then, Miss Momo, may I touch your tail?"

Momo squatted down at Alice's eye level, moving her long, fluffy tail frontward so Alice could touch it.

Alice buried herself into the fluffy goodness. "So smooth and warm!"

After a minute or two, Alice peeled herself away. The satisfaction of hugging such a high quality tail was immeasurable.

"I still need to shop for something else. How much for everything?"

Momo took a pencil and wrote the receipt, stamped it with her insignia. "Here you go… it's 10 Silver Coins in total."

Alice took out Lady Morwenna's jade plaque and stamped the receipt with it without hesitation.

"I'm so sorry, I don't have some cash on me. You can redeem this receipt to Lady Morwenna's office at the House of Artisans! Bye-bye, Miss Momo! I'll visit you again tomorrow!" Alice waved at the puzzled vendor while running.

Momo checked the stamp once again, and then realization dawned on her. She had just remembered about the little succubus named Alice who was none other than Chieftess Andalier's daughter.

That's what stated in the official paper, however. Only Chieftess Andariel and the Succubi trio knew Alice's true identity.

"Oh no… She's the mischievous daughter of Andariel! I should have known it sooner… But, she seemed like a very smart kid to me." Momo caressed her chin. "Ah, whatever! Let's redeem this receipt before the manor is closed!"

In that afternoon, Alice went around the vendors to buy the necessary tools and supplies for her little 'invention'. Since nobody stopped her midway her shopping free, Alice went all out. She even hired some Incubi who excelled in building houses and public facilities.

Before long, there was a long line of vendors who were queuing to redeem the receipt of goods that Alice had bought from them.

In the late afternoon, the goods that she bought using the jade plaque had been delivered to her house. Catharina, who had returned from the training ground, was utterly fumbled upon seeing a pile of crates and barrels.

On the other hand, the Incubi began the workshop construction right away.

"Excuse me… would you explain what is happening?" Catharina asked one of the incubi.

"We are hired by the Young Lady to build her workshop right beside the house."

"What workshop? She hasn't told me about this."

The incubus builder shrugged, but then he caught a sight of the said young lady trudging uphill. "Speaks of the devil, why don't you ask her yourself?"
