Ch.53 : The Doctor Who Couldn't Forget
Once Nic got home, he headed straight to his room with the black crow that had perched on him back at Mira's place. He made a special spot near the window for the bird, gently stroked its head, then flopped down on his bed.
"You comfy here?" he asked casually.
The crow let out a soft croak and sat contentedly in its new spot.
Nic took a deep breath and opened his system. It had been a while since he last checked it, especially after everything that had happened recently.

Nic nodded slowly, then looked at the feelings tab—the girls who weren't officially his girlfriends yet.

Emily → 50% affection, not yet a girlfriend (If she becomes one, unlocks the skill "God of Secretary")
Viona → 100% affection, hasn't met Nic again, not yet a girlfriend (If she becomes one, unlocks the skill "God of Doctor")
Mira → 100% affection, not yet a girlfriend (If she becomes one, Nic already has "Animal Tamer", so the new skill would be "Speak with Animals & All Animals Will Side with Nic" – or simply, God of Beast)
Nic saw Mira's status and was confused. He remembered that he had asked Mira out, then the system answered.
"You said the word like to him so that triggered the system"
Nic sighed even though it was just admiration but he finally nodded.
Nic raised an eyebrow at the mention of Viona.
"Hmm… where is she now?" he muttered.

Meanwhile: At the Hospital
Viona sat slouched in the break room, her expression heavy and drained.
She was supposed to take a job assessment today to work as a substitute doctor. But all morning, her mind just wouldn't settle.
She couldn't stop thinking about Nic.
"Damn it, why can't I get that kid out of my head!?" she groaned, covering her face with both hands.
The more she tried to focus, the more her thoughts drifted to Nic—and everything he did.
"This isn't gonna work... I won't be able to do my job if this keeps up," she whispered.
Finally, with a deep sigh and firm resolve, Viona stood up and made a decision.
"I need to find him first... otherwise, I'll never get my mind straight."

Back to Nic
Still lounging on his bed, Nic now browsed through the system's skill tab. There were several new ones he hadn't even tried out yet.
1. "God of Hackers" (from Julia)
Nic grabbed his phone and activated the skill. Instantly, waves of data flooded his mind.
- Every password was revealed.
- Protected sites became easily accessible.
- No security system could stop him.
His eyes widened. "Whoa... this is insane."
In a matter of seconds, he could break into any site, access any hidden info—he practically was the internet now.
Nic quickly shut his phone and let out a long breath.
"Damn, if I keep this up, I might end up becoming a cyber criminal…"
2. "God of Tracking" (from Charlotte)
Nic was curious, but didn't have a case to use it on at the moment. He decided to skip this one for now.
3. "God of Cooking" (from Zestia)
Now this one piqued his interest. He headed to the kitchen, grabbed a raw chicken, and suddenly an image appeared in his mind.
[Cooking Options: Fried Chicken, Roasted Chicken, Chicken Soup, Chicken Curry, Teriyaki Chicken...]
Nic was stunned.
Then he grabbed some chili peppers—again, the system flashed multiple recipes and methods of preparation.
"Holy crap, this is awesome!" he shouted.
4. "God of Mystical" (from Selene)
This skill let him see spirits and mystical entities.
Nic stepped outside and looked around, activating the skill.
Every person on the street had a spirit.
But they all looked... normal.
Nic frowned. "So this is what Selene sees all the time? Still, it's hard to believe…"
This skill didn't just show people's spirits—it revealed their true nature. If someone had a demonic-looking spirit, chances were they were dangerous in real life too.
He scanned the streets, searching for anything suspicious.
But everything looked fine.
Eventually, he went back inside and let out a long yawn.
"That's enough for today…"
Feeling exhausted, he lay down and closed his eyes.

Just as he was starting to drift off, someone knocked on his door. Groaning, he got up lazily, assuming it was one of his girlfriends upset he came home without them.
But when he opened the door… standing there was Dr. Viona, looking pissed.
"Finally! I found you!" she said, storming into his room without even asking.
She sat down in a chair, arms crossed, clearly not in the mood for small talk.
Still groggy, Nic sighed and asked, "You just barge in now, huh?"
Viona took a deep breath and launched into a rant.
"This isn't normal! I only met you twice—once at the hospital and once on the plane—"
Nic interrupted, "This makes three times now."
She immediately slapped her hand over his mouth and continued, eyes blazing.
"Listen! Why can't I stop thinking about you!? It's driving me crazy! Every day I try to focus on work, but I can't! Every time I take an exam to become a doctor, I fail because my mind just keeps shouting 'Nic, Nic, Nic!' What the hell did you do to me, kid?!"
Nic blinked, then said innocently, "Maybe… love at first sight?"
Viona exploded. "ARE YOU INSANE?! IT CAN'T BE THAT SIMPLE!"
Nic shrugged. "So what do you want to do now?"
Viona paused, then said seriously, "Get these feelings out of me!"
Nic raised an eyebrow. "Is that even possible?"
She went silent, clearly not sure what to do. Finally, she stood up and declared, "Fine! How about this: you'll be my boyfriend—for now! I need to focus on becoming a doctor. Otherwise, I'll never get anything done!"
Nic was caught off guard by the sudden declaration. Before answering, he opened a drawer and pulled out a photo of himself with all his current girlfriends.
He showed it to Viona.
She stared at it. Then, with a flat expression, she looked at him and said, "Fine. For now, I'm your girlfriend. What happens next… we'll see. Just say yes so I can get my brain back."
Nic thought for a moment, then smiled. "Alright. We're dating."
Viona stood, satisfied. "Don't forget to tell the others!" she said as she walked toward the door.
But the moment she opened it—bam. Standing right there were Julia and Charlotte, clearly eavesdropping the entire time.
Viona froze, eyes wide. And then it hit her—Julia, the top hacker of Red District. Charlotte, the genius detective.
Charlotte grinned teasingly. "Aww, Doc just confessed to a younger guy~"
Viona's face turned bright red. "Shut up, both of you!" she shouted before bolting out the door.
Nic could only sigh and smile. "So... what brings you two here? Where's everyone else?"
Julia answered, "They're still watching the Unity HQ being built. We hired some pro builders."
Charlotte added, "We came to check on you. You didn't pick up when we called."
Nic scratched his head. "Oh, sorry. I was asleep."
Charlotte's face grew more serious. "We also came because there's a problem. The construction team at Unity HQ keeps getting robbed. Someone's stealing their equipment and supplies."
Nic blinked. "Seriously? How is that even possible?"
Julia pulled out her laptop and opened it on the table, joined by Charlotte and Nic.
"That's why we're going to find out who's behind it," Charlotte said confidently.
Nic grinned. This was going to be interesting—especially now that he had both detective and hacker skills.
