Ch.63 : Sweet Trouble in the Morning

Jenny stretched her arms with a satisfied smile. "I promise I won't do anything! Just sleeping, that's all. I already asked Fanny for permission," she said innocently.

Nic narrowed his eyes. "Isn't this... a little too much?" he asked, doubtful.

Jenny giggled and suddenly flopped onto Nic's bed, rolling around like a kid who just got her favorite toy. Nic let out a long sigh, then lay down beside her.

"You're really not gonna do anything, right?" he confirmed again.

Jenny nodded eagerly, her eyes sparkling. Without another word, Nic closed his eyes and tried to sleep. Jenny stared at him for a while and then whispered softly, "Nic? You still awake?"

Nic stayed silent, pretending to be asleep. But to his surprise… Jenny didn't do anything strange. She simply lay still, then slowly drifted off to sleep as well.

Half-awake, Nic thought, Wait, seriously? I thought she'd do something weird...

Then, a mischievous idea popped into his mind. "Tomorrow morning… I'm so gonna prank her!"

---

The next morning…

Jenny yawned loudly, rubbing her eyes. But when she realized Nic was no longer beside her, her face scrunched in annoyance. "Hmph! Where did he go?! Irresponsible guy!"

Just as she was about to get up, something grabbed her leg from under the bed.

Jenny froze. Without thinking, she tried to run, but her leg got caught, and she crashed to the floor. Her heart pounding, she peeked into the dark space beneath the bed. Something was there… and before she could scream, it pulled her into the shadows!

"Mmmph!!" Jenny squirmed as her mouth was covered by a cold hand.

From the darkness came a low, eerie voice. "Shhh... If you scream, I'll eat you..." Nic's voice was deliberately deep and creepy.

But what shocked Nic was… Jenny didn't resist. She kept wriggling, but not to escape.

Huh? She's not even trying to run away?

As he waited for her reaction, he suddenly felt something wet on his hand.

"A LICK!?"

Nic yanked his hand away in horror. "Hey! Don't lick me!"

Jenny looked up at him, eyes sparkling with joy. "I knew it was you all along. That's why I didn't struggle~" she said, breathing heavily with an intense gaze.

Nic sensed danger. "Okay, time out!" he yelped, slapping a hand over Jenny's face and crawling out from under the bed in panic.

"Alright, time for breakfast!" he yelled, bolting to the kitchen.

Jenny slowly crawled out after him, her eyes glowing with strange delight. "I love mornings like this~" she whispered to herself before following him with a mischievous grin.

---

In the Kitchen

Jenny leaned on the doorway, watching Nic cook. "What's for breakfast, darling~?" she asked in a teasing tone.

Without turning around, Nic replied, "Don't ask. Go sit at the table."

Jenny pouted and plopped into her chair with a grumpy face, like a kid denied candy.

Nic sighed. "Guess I have to cheer her up now…" He activated God of Charisma.

With a radiant aura like a true prince, Nic turned and smiled warmly. "I'm sorry, Jenny. I didn't mean to upset you. I made this breakfast especially for you. So come on, let's eat, okay?"

Jenny's jaw dropped. Nic was suddenly glowing like Olivia. "AWW!!" She rushed over and sat on his lap without hesitation, ignoring how close they were.

Beaming, she said, "Since you're being sweet, feed me~"

Nic sighed. "Oh jen…" He picked up a spoon and moved to feed her.

But before the first bite reached Jenny's mouth, the door suddenly creaked open.

CREAK!

Standing in the doorway was Fanny. She froze, her face blank, as she saw her sister sitting so sweetly on Nic's lap.

Silence.

Jenny and Nic froze as well.

Fanny raised an eyebrow. "..."

Jenny glanced at Nic, then at Fanny. With innocent eyes, she asked, "Ah, Sis. Wanna join us?"

Nic bowed his head. "Uh… good morning."

Fanny, still standing in the doorway, said flatly, "Sorry for interrupting your date," then closed the door again with no expression.

Jenny and Nic looked at each other in shock and quickly separated.

Behind the door, Fanny stood frozen, still processing what she'd just seen. In her mind, Jenny was the shy, passive type around others—only acting weird when she was sick. But this? Sitting on Nic's lap, looking so blissfully happy without a trace of fever?

Fanny clutched her head, face flushing. "How the hell did she become like this?!" she muttered. But her thoughts quickly veered off course. "Wait, if I go on a date with Nic… will it be like that too? Ahh!"

Her face turned even redder. Frustrated, she began pounding on Nic's front door without realizing it.

BANG! BANG! BANG!

Nic panicked at the noise and ran to her. "Fanny! Stop! What did my door ever do to you?! I know you're mad, but please don't take it out on the wood!"

Fanny glared at him, her face still red. "Who says I'm mad?!"

Nic tilted his head. "Then why are you hitting my door like it stole your lunch?"

Jenny peeked out from behind. "Yeah sis, chill. The door's innocent…"

Fanny groaned. "Just go continue your stupid date! I don't care, and I'm NOT mad!" she said, turning away with flushed cheeks.

Nic sighed and gently pulled her inside. "Alright, come on. Let's just eat together."

"I already had breakfast," Fanny snapped.

Hearing that, Jenny smirked. "Then Nic~ keep feeding me, okay?"

Fanny flopped onto the sofa and turned on the TV with a blank expression. "Whatever. Don't mind me. I'm just dust."

Nic exhaled deeply as he continued feeding Jenny, who was clearly enjoying her little victory. Once they were done eating, Nic asked, "So Jenny, what do you wanna do now?"

Jenny smiled. "That's enough for me. The date's over. I'm already happy."

Nic raised an eyebrow. "Really?"

Jenny nodded, then walked over to Fanny and hugged her tightly. In a whisper, she said, "Now it's your turn to go on a date with Nic~"

Fanny froze. Her face turned as red as a fully ripe tomato.

Meanwhile, at the internet café, Rika and Talia were still deep in discussion about Nic. Rika clearly hadn't gotten over her loss and was obsessing over a rematch.

"We HAVE to win this time!" Rika declared passionately. "Let's call our old team. We'll challenge him 5v5!"

Talia glanced at her. "Does he even have a team?"

Rika paused. "Hmm… no idea. But we'll find out soon enough!" she said with fiery determination.

Talia sighed and pulled out her phone. "Alright, I still have their numbers. I'll call them now."

Rika clenched her fist. "Perfect! This time, we'll make sure he loses!"

To be continued…
