That night, Nic couldn't sleep.
He lay in bed, eyes fixed on the glowing system panel floating inches above his face. The room was dark, but the pale blue light from the system softly lit up his tired expression.
"Do I really have to do this...?" he muttered to himself.
From within the interface, Zeta's voice emerged—calm but firm.
[Master Nic, you must. If this mission fails, the system will collapse. Worse... the Goddess of Love will remain imprisoned for eternity.]
Nic clenched his jaw. "I know... but WHAT THE HELL IS THIS MISSION?!"
The mission panel hovered before him, cold and merciless.

Nic stared, speechless.

The next morning, he trudged toward school like a zombie. His eyes were bloodshot, footsteps heavy with fatigue.
But just before he reached the school gate, a commotion caught his attention near a narrow alley.
Zane his junior from Class 1-A was surrounded by three adult thugs. One of Zane's friends lay on the ground, bruised and groaning. Zane stood alone.
"Zane! Go! I'll hold them off!" his friend gasped.
But Zane didn't budge. "I'm not running. I won't leave anyone behind."
One thug raised his hand to strike.
And then—his wrist was caught.
"AARRGHH!"
The man screamed as Nic crushed his arm with a single grip, sending him crashing down.
Another thug charged. Nic ducked and countered with a powerful kick to the chest, launching the attacker six meters through the air.
Zane stared, dumbfounded.
"W-What the heck...?"
Nic looked down at his hands.
"Is this… Heartlink Overdrive?"
He hadn't even tested it yet.
As he turned to leave, Zane dropped to his knees.
"Senior! Please train me!"
Nic sighed. "I'm not a teacher."
"I want to get stronger! I want to protect people!"
Nic stopped. He placed a hand on Zane's head.
"If you want to protect others, stay away from revenge. Use your strength to endure, not to destroy. Violence only breeds more violence."
Without another word, Nic walked away.
Zane watched in awe, eyes shining.
"Senior Nic... he's incredible. I'll follow him forever..."
