Synopsis

In a future rebuilt atop the ruins of forgotten civilizations, history is a myth and memory is a weapon.

A middle-aged man wakes up in a dark cell, tortured and questioned by unknown captors. He remembers nothing but pain—until the questions begin to bleed open visions from a life he can't fully grasp.

Each strike brings clarity.

Each question unlocks a memory.

And each memory brings him closer to the truth of who he was... and why the world wants a piece of him.

Gifted—or cursed—with a cognitive ability, he can relive his memories as vividly as if they were happening now. But in a world where history has been lost, his mind may hold the last key to humanity's lost truths.

As the interrogation unfolds, so too does a story of love, loss, betrayal, and hope, spanning timelines and hearts, slowly unraveling the mystery of how he ended up here—and where he must go from there because in this world, the past doesn’t just haunt you… it bleeds.

Yes, yes—I know. Reviewing your own book is a bit like laughing at your own joke. But hey, someone’s got to break the ice, right? Where the Past Bleeds is my attempt to blend sci-fi, romance, and psychological mystery into one cohesive mess of emotion, memory glitches, subtle awakenings, and ancient secrets quietly judging you from the shadows. Our main guy, Emric, might seem composed, but beneath the surface? He’s basically one existential crisis away from greatness- he’s spiraling in style. If you're into slow-burn worldbuilding, subtle power awakenings (with emotional damage included), loyal romance (with different partners as the story progresses—don’t ask, it’s complicated), and characters that sometimes make terrible decisions for very human reasons… you might feel right at home here. Give it a shot. Read a chapter, maybe two. And if it makes you feel things—or yell at the characters like they can hear you—consider leaving support and a review of your own. I promise Emric won’t be the only one spiraling then.
