CHAPTER 11: THE CRAZY NEW BRIDE
" How do you find your stay here my dear" The Queen asked
Tara was taken back by the sudden question from the woman, it's only her second day and she's asking about how she finds her stay. " Quite amazing, I have been well accommodated and treated " Tara fakes a smile
" Nice, please feel at home because this is your new home and it will be always" The Queen spoke with a forced smile, everyone could see how fake her kindness was.
" Thank you your highness " Tara thanked with a forced smile too, she had promised herself to not let anyone treat her like she was in her previous life . Give and take, whatever they give her is what they'll take from her, kindness for kindness and evil for evil.
" Xavier how does it feel to be a married man ?" The Queen mocked Xavier who was busy minding his invincible business
" Good " he gave her a dry reply which suggested that he won't be answering anything else, as always he was a person who didn't speak much.
" Princess Tara welcome to the royal family, Xavier come to my office after you finish dinner " the King spoke and left, Xavier also left and followed the King leaving Tara alone with Sienna

In the King's office, Xavier sat down while the King sat on the big chair .
" what do you think of your bride ?" King Dante asked
" Good " Xavier gave a dry answer
" So you have no complaints?"
" No!,.. what do you want to talk about? " Xavier never liked his father hence he never wanted to spend a lot of time with him
" As per the agreements of the peace agreement our kingdoms have had, King Asher of Greta has invited everyone to a peace encouraging ball. The main agenda being about the rogue problem at the north of Greta, you will go and represent our kingdom. Bring your wife and sister too, " King Dante informed Xavier
" Why me? You have always been giving your son's the duty of representing the Kingdom, what happened that you suddenly remembered I am your son and I should also get a role of representing the Kingdom? " Xavier questioned his father, for as long as he can remember Xavier had always been sent to the battles and he has been nothing but a great soldier. Never had he being given the responsibility of representing the Kingdom in diplomatic matters, so this suddenly requests shocked him.
" Because you are a prince! And it's your duty to represent our kingdom to other kingdoms. You have been a good soldier and now it's time to gain diplomatic experience ." The King spoke with a fatherly tone
" I see,." Xavier spoke with disinterest
" In 4 days you will leave, tell King Asher he should expect our help " King answered
" If that's all I will take my leave " Xavier didn't wait for any other word and he left the office
King Dante watched his son with sadness in his eyes, he liked his son amongst all of his other children. For many years he has been secretly protecting him and Sienna from the Queen his wife, he even sent him to wars and battles so he could be away from the clutches of the queen. Dante wanted his son to be the best soldier and now it's time to train him in the diplomatic world, he knew his time is short but before he died, he will make sure Xavier is fully ready to battle anyone for the throne.

Back at the dining room the atmosphere was tense as everyone watched the girl eating her food quietly , as if she wasn't the one changing personalities from cold to hot.
" I see my young brother married an outcast and crazy woman like himself " Andrew spat out toxic words
" My sister in law and brother are not crazy " Sienna for the first time got courage to protest against her awful brothers and they all looked at her as if she was nothing but a fly who had stepped on a boundary she wasn't supposed to.
" And who told you to speak? Who gave you the permission" Andrew shot a glare while asking, Sienna trembled in fear. She couldn't even believe what she did, where did she get the energy to protest.
" Who told you to speak to her like that?! " Tara returned the same question to Andrew
" I am the prince so I can speak to anyone" Andrew spoke as if he's an entitled King
" And she is the princess so she can speak to anyone, " Tara argued back using the same attitude
" I see she got the attitude from you, just one day and she thinks she can meddle in and speak as she wants " Andrew scolded again raising his voice
" Shut up man! don't scold me I'm neither your child nor your staff. Know your manners and your spitting saliva on my food, idiot" Tara spoke with an annoyed face and voice, everyone was once again shocked by Tara's audacity to scold and humiliated the evil prince.
" Do you want to die? " Andrew stood up fuming
" No, but do you want to die?" Tara returned the questioned with a raised brow
Andrew stood up, marched towards Tara and raised his hand to slap her. Without notice he was pulled from behind by a strong hand, turning around it was Xavier and he looked angry, Xavier's blood boiled. No one no one touched what was his.
" Are you trying to hit my wife? " Xavier asked
" She was being rude " Andrew argued back, he was scared because they all knew Xavier could knock all of them down. He was powerful, he just didn't like meddling with them.
" He started it, he was scolding and saying bad things to Sienna " Tara pointed her finger at Andrew as she complained
" Stay away from them, if you have a problem come to me. Don't ever lay your hand on Princess Tara or Sienna " Xavier warned and let him go before telling Sienna and Tara " let's leave "

They left the palace, Francis and Jenna also left, Andrew and Thomas too left. The King's Palace was full of stories of the new bride who was scared of no one
They arrived at their palace, Xavier sent Sienna to her room. Sienna said goodnight to Tara and went to her room, Xavier looked at Tara who looked confused.
" Why are you looking at me like that? " Tara questioned with a raised brow and confused face wondering what she did
" Do you find joy in fighting?" Xavier questioned
" No I don't," Tara replied and added " But they started it, they were just poking me and Sienna too. I can't just sit down and let people bully me " Tara replied with no regrets
" Learn how to be quiet and avoid some people " Xavier adviced her,
" I was quiet but they kept on pressing me and poking me. Ugh I have a limit too, " she complained again
" You still have a lot to learn,… Have you found a way to control your power? " Xavier knew it was fruitless to keep on advising her, so he changed the topic
" No, I tried doing something with it but nothing happened." Tara sighed
" In 4 days we will be leaving for Greta Kingdom " Xavier informed her
" Gre what! where? And why " Tara questioned
" A diplomatic visit, so get yourself ready the journey will be in 4 days " Xavier explained to her
" And Sienna?" Tara didn't want to travel with this boring man alone
" She is coming too,.. that's all" He spoke and turned to leave
" Goodnight " Tara wished him and went to her room with her maids
Inside her room Tara remembered that she still needed to negotiate with Xavier about her plans and her dream to leave.
" I still have romorrow," Tara assured herself, the trip is in four days so she had a lot of time to speak with him.
Tara touched the pendant before going to sleep, she thought of how to get fully get the power and be able to control them. It will be a good help if she could use them, she also thought of the new knowledge she has learnt about this world including demons and how she even have those powers. And what she will do to help Xavier and Sienna win this battle, after few thoughts Tara fell asleep soundly as she drowned in a dream
