I Really Wish I Was Eating Some Dessert Right Now

Yuhe woke up feeling a nice breeze fall past his face, he looked up and saw a cliff above him with a slick edge that looked like it recently broke off.

'Must suck to be the guy that broke a whole cliff edge and then fell to his death. That would be a horrible way to go.'

As yuhe was thinking this, he looked down, and then looked to his left and right. Then looked down, again, and saw there was nothing there.

He was the stupid soul who broke the cliff edge.

"NOOO WAYYYYYYY" Yuhe screamed as he fell down all the way to the solid ground. In a rare stroke of luck he was saved by a massive pool of water.breaking his fall, -It did hurt a lot though- but then he remembered something.

Yuhe never learnt how to swim.

After struggling and quickly learning how to be buoyant, he ended up washed ashore and felt sand pushing past his clothes. However the clothes he was wearing wasn't what he had on when he first was transported to this new world.

Using the pond as a mirror, Yuhe looked the exact same, a young man with a black ponytail that was -now wet- loosely tied. He was pale with some muscle showing but that was because he was deathly thin. Thankfully, the food from the coffee shop proved to be very high in calorie count so he had gained some mass, but he was still malnourished.

The simple torn and used black hoodie he loved had changed into a very light, black sleeveless shirt. His trusty blue jeans that survived the harsh environment he was always in, had now been transformed into a pair of tight black sweatpants. Both of these once pretty comfortable items were now soaked and he really wished that Lizzy would've pit him in a nicer spot.

'I guess she can only control the scenario, not whatever happens to me. Anyways what even is the scenario?'

As yuhe thought that as he began to take in his surroundings. He was expecting to see a massive city to the scale of Nanjing beyond the horizon but only saw a vast desert that seemed to linger on forever. The sand was yellow and slightly hot to touch and he felt it starting to dig into his shoes just at the thought of it.

He seemed to be in an oasis of sorts, a really big one at that. And as he turned around and looked up, he noticed that there was nothing there. He rubbed his eyes and looked again, this time with a stern look of confusion and disbelief clearly written on his face, it still wasn't there. All that replaced it was one or two trees and a few patches of shrubs.

Yuhe really wanted to find out how the hell he dropped down from literally nothing, but, he had bigger problems on his plate, one of them being the fact he has never been in or even seen a desert before. Another was the food situation, Yuhe was thankful there was a plentiful sorce of -hopefully- clean water right next to him. But he couldn't see any animals or plants and knew instinctually that he won't find any in the massive desert he's found himself in. He had to leave.

But how? The oasis was in a slight dip in the ground. But once he walked over the mini hill, he still only found endless reaches of sand. He tried to look through his pockets and find anything that might be of value, but all he found was a kunai that had a blunt edge and a stinky smell to it. It seemed like the only option he had was to simply walk in a straight line until he met something, or someone.

So, that's what he did. He gulped down as much water as possible and started on his trek towards nothing.

He chose to walk east because he felt that he could walk that path not only the straightest because of the Sun, but also had a weird gut feeling that it would just work out. Maybe that was his own hope misguiding him towards his demise, or maybe he saw the beautiful sunrise and wanted to get as close as possible to it since he hadn't seen one in forever. Either way, he walked, and walked some more, eventually it turned night, so he contemplated sleeping but decided against it, chosing to instead walk, and then walk some more. He saw the sunrise yet again and decided to look around in all the cardinal directions. Hoping to find anything.

He didn't see anything other than the sand, even when he turned around he couldn't see the stunning oasis anymore.

So he walked, not so fast as to make him tired, or so slow that he wouldn't be gaining any meaningful ground, but he just, walked. He had a lot of time to think about the recent events in his life, or maybe how to beat an enemy if it showed up out of the sand, but he didn't. He chose to just keep walking. Then, as it turned the third night of the Challenge and second night of him walking, he decided to sleep. He hasn't been attacked yet so why would they attack him in his sleep...

'That is the thinking that gets a man killed, anyways, goodnight world. See you in the morning.'

As Yuhe drifted off to sleep he felt strange, not incredibly tired or so restless that he can't sleep. He just felt the same bubble that Lizzy put inside him again. As he somehow fell asleep on the now very cold sand. He started to dream, or rather, have a nightmare.

The young begger woke up, it was morning with the sun rising and countless colors Yuhe hadnt seen in years forming in the sky. A single tear streamed down his eyes as he saw his beautiful mother sitting on a chair in the morning sun. She seemed to be looking at something, so naturally, Yuhe followed her gaze til he settled on a long driveway. What he saw made him feel an empty hole in his body be filled with a warm fuzzy feeling, his father was right there, walking out of his truck in his work clothes with his keys in his hands and a bright smile on his face. It seemed that his father also had all his worries wash away when looking at his wife. His parents were right infront of him, it was like a movie. He wanted to stay for longer. He wanted to live here forever. He wanted to see his family's joy and happiness forever.

Then, as always, the sky started to fade.

A massive red and menacing portal was created out of nothing right infront of him. Yuhe already decided to give up on saving his parents in these nightmares, instead chosing to see and remember them before the portal opened and never forget the joy and happiness he once had. He wasn't jealous nor actively trying to regain it, he simply found content in the temporary looks of glee on his parents.

That was before something changed within the nightmare, while he was usually operating a much younger version of himself -only around 13- he was now in his current body, possessing his current strength. And while that wasn't enough to defeat the deity, he felt something in his pocket that wanted to be set free. Something that had an even more ominous and dangerous power than the great eye manifesting itself out of the portal. The simple blunt kunai he had in his pocket inside the Challenge was now in his very hands, ready to kill that damn eye in a swift throw or a simple slash.

Of course, that would prove to very be hard. For maybe a first time... Yuhe had fought this dreadful eye to many times, and while the eye wasn't taking his early resistance to it serious at all. Yuhe had a general grasp of its ability and its Gifted Power. He knew it was strong, and seemed to have the ability to both inflict fear into its enemies and also the ability to use its gruesome veins to slap around its opponents like they are weightless ants.

He already had an idea of beating it, and how it would attack him. All he had to do was stab the pupil, it seemed so obvious Yuhe didnt believe himself when he thought about it. In a swift act of defiance from the normal events inside the nightmare, Yuhe jumped past his now petrified parents and looked a little up at the monsterous eye spawning above his driveway. Then, he threw the kunai with all the strength he could muster. The eye in a heartbeat reacted, swinging a massive vein across the front of the knife. The tendril easily.split into two, cut in half immediately. And the now blood red knife wasn't losing any momentum it seemed, the eye seemed to realize that the kunai was deadly, one of the deadliest things it had ever seen, and decided to try and move out the way. The eye however, made this decicion far to slow and didn't make it because Yuhe was a surprising good thrower. And just as it was about be hit directly in the pupil by the kunai that seemed to be able to kill the gods. The eye produced a guttural scream and moved more of its long tendril like veins towards the kunai, praying it would slow down the terrible dagger at all.

It didn't work. It seemed that Yuhe's will for the knife to piece the massive pupil of the eye was stronger than the eyes own will to survive. Then, when the knife pieced the menacing eye, it didn't die. It seemed hurt, that was for certain. But it was still alive. It was only after the eye massacred him and his family did Yuhe get kicked out of his prideful and triumphant mood. But he saw something out of the corner of his own -much smaller- eyes, and that was a single tendon connecting the eye to something back inside the portal, in every other time the eye was so terrifying and impassable that Yuhe hadnt noticed the thin string of deep red that connected the eye to a truly powerful unknown within the portal. But now that the eye showed a sign of fear and had to move out the way of the kunai. He saw it, he finally got a good look at the puppet master. And he wasn't going to waste his next opportunity.

Yuhe woke up in a cold sweat, as usual with that nightmare. But this time, instead of being on edge and scared of his surrounding for a while. He was envirgorated and hopeful. Hopeful that he could finally save his parents inside that dream, envirgorated that he might learn a thing or two about the demon and then learn more about the invaders as a whole.

With those two very powerful emotions guiding him, he stood up. And started walking.
