For three years, I have been Alpha Damon's mate, yet he has never marked me.
He gave me the title of Luna, but brought a human girl back to his penthouse to live with him.
At our third-anniversary celebration, the Alpha announced in front of the entire pack, "From this day forward, she is my true mate!"
"Three years of heats and still unmarked. Don't you find that humiliating? Should I find a Beta to take care of that for you?"
I bent down, removed the necklace that symbolized Luna, and placed it at his feet. "Let's sever the mate bond."
Turning to leave, I dialed a number.
"This three-year bet... I lost. I agree to our bond."

Finally, under his endlessly hopeful gaze, I slowly began to speak:


"There's no need for this, Damon. I don't hate you anymore."


He froze, a flicker of hope igniting in his eyes.


But my next words sent that hope plummeting into despair.


"From this moment on, we go our separate ways. We will never see each other again."


With that said, I turned and brushed past him, heading for the door.


The second before Damon could rush forward, Adrian stepped out from the side, blocking my path and seizing Damon's arm in a powerful grip.


"If you dare take one more step, I guarantee that every single one of your family's assets will vanish without a trace before tomorrow."


Adrian looked at him coolly, his eyes filled with an arrogant disdain.
