The Sacrifices

He opened his eyes. He was in a dark world. Everything was black and white.

A girl in a golden dress sat under a tree with black leaves. She looked like a goddess. Kenshin went to her.

"Hello. Can you tell me where I am? A second ago, I died. I opened my eyes and I was here."

"Oh, hello Kenshin. You're here. Let's take a walk."

Kenshin could not look away from her.

"You don't recognize my voice?"

"No."

"I'm Infinit, you old geezer."

"Infinit? What are we doing here? Were we separated by that beast? Is this the afterlife?"

"Wait. 

A better question, what was that beast? I remember he knew about you. 

You know what? I have so many questions, but I don't want answers now. None of it matters. I'm dead. I'm in the afterlife. 

Why do I care?"

Infinit: Look. This is not the afterlife. We are outside your reality. No one can enter here, just me. And I can bring someone if I want.

Infinit: I was a goddess, before every god and goddess got slaughtered by the Demon Lord, 

his army, and his seven guards. We couldn't defend the realm of gods. 

They entered through those dungeons that appear in your world now. It's a bridge that connects your world and the demon world. Every time, the bridge gets stronger. 

Soon, those bridges will be able to hold the Demon Lord's power. When they perfect it, your world is going to die. No one can survive. They will be a food supply for them.

"Okay. Why do I care? I'm not there. I'm not going to die again. I'm already dead."

Infinit: You are not dead. You died, you are right. But after he left, I fixed your neck. Now you are in a hospital, in a coma.

"What? Coma? Okay Infinit, I'm not going back. That thing will kill me again. He told me that I am your third avatar he will kill.

Infinit: You are right. Because of me, my last two avatars don't even have an afterlife. One of the Demon upper guards has a unique ability that can trap souls and change them into demons.

"No shit. I'm not fucking going back. All my life I waited to rest in the afterlife. Now I have a chance to be a goddamn demon. 

Isn't that fun? You can make me go back, but I won't do shit."

Infinit: You are right. But someone has to stop them. I know you can do it.

"Yeah, laying in a bed in a coma. That's my specialty."

Infinit: Okay. Let's do this. 

I will sacrifice myself. I will give you all my power, all my abilities. But your body can't handle it. You have to train, go through fights, until your body can adapt to them one by one and unlock everything. If I die, they can't find you. They can't trace you. You will have time to be ready by the time they come to your world.

"No. I can't do that."

They were sitting.

Infinit: I have to do this.

She grabbed Kenshin's face and kissed him. He froze. He heard her voice 

Infinit: All my power, I command you to transfer.

A massive amount of energy exploded from her. Kenshin's body absorbed all of it.

Infinit: Please be careful. And revenge us.

Kenshin's consciousness shot back to his body at the speed of light. He opened his eyes. He saw a doctor leaning over him.

"He's waking up! Oh my god, that's a miracle! He is waking up!"
