Telling Cornelia About the Game

"What!? I'm a video game character!?"

Finally it's time to share our knowledge. And when I told her that even though she entered the world of a novel, I entered the world of a game. After a short explanation, that's her explanation.

"…That's actually quite the normal reaction. See, guys? This is how people of my world would react when they were told that they're characters of a video game," I say to Felix, Sabine, and also Rosalinda who is somehow here.

"That's actually my reaction if I listened to your explanation alone. I don't know about video game but when you said that this girl Cornelia entered the world of a novel, I was shocked just like that," Rosalinda says.

"Me too. But well, because your explanation is too confusing since it's a term I still don't understand, I still thought that you were saying nonsense at the time. But after sorting it out with the others afterward, we were all shocked," Sabine explains.

So they gathered together after my explanation to figure out what I meant. Well, there are some terms I said that doesn't exist here like video game.

We share our knowledge about the two stories. From the novel and the game. Felix memorizes everything.

Though for the future events that should happen, the three agreed to not listen and just let us two talks about it. Unless the event is related to them. But I doubt they were directly related to them. Some just related to this city and not them.

"Then we'll talk about that privately. Anything else you want to ask?" I ask Cornelia.

"So, you told them about reincarnation? You trust them enough even though they're not in the game at all?" Cornelia asks.

"Oh, right. I guess it's time to summon her," I say.

So I show my middle finger and Cornelia instantly got angry at me.

"What the fuck?"

"See? This is easier than calling names," I say to the other Holy Knights. They don't know the meaning of showing a middle finger.

Then the ring on my middle finger starts shining. The others also have their items appear and shine before finally the Goddess is summoned.

"She's the Goddess of this world. At least that's what she's called. Her name is Asdis. And she's the one who reincarnated us. Probably. We don't really know because the effect of time travel is memory loss and she forgot the reason why she reincarnated us. Well, you first then I came later. But it's true that the two of us were born on the same day and she can no longer use reincarnation magic after using it twice," I introduce Asdis to Cornelia.

Then I told her about things that didn't exist in the game. Since it's not in the game, I expected them to not exist in the novel. I think I was right.

Asdis also told Cornelia about what she knew about the demons. And Cornelia was shocked.

"So it will happen everywhere? Why did you pick Ronald as the protagonist?" Cornelia asks.

"That's also my question. There's no way the protagonist alone would be enough to handle the demons. And the demons invasion happens everywhere. Dahlia Academy and wherever the protagonist goes during his time as a student there is just a small part of what will happen. I expected this when I realized that this world is the same world as the game I played. I was devastated learning about it but you somehow felt excited instead," I say.

"I'm sorry, alright? You're right. I was never an adult. I'm just a teenager twice."

She's already aware of the danger of this world. Not just from the future demons invasion but also from people living in this world. Including one's own family. She experienced it herself how she was so close in missing her brother forever.

Julian is now staying with me for a while until I can get my own place. As for the plan for the clan creation, we put that on hold. I haven't taken a mission for more than a year so I think I should establish my status as a B-rank adventurer. And we're still lacking members. At least five adventurers are needed to create a clan.

I already thought of making a clan with the others while training but both Jaden and Sven refused to join. They're free men and prefer to move on their own. As for Keith, he's a retired adventurer. Even the others said that it's best to not rely on him until the clan is created. We can say that he's interested in returning as an adventurer later because of the clan's creation and it's also for letting people know that we build the clan without his help.

Duchess Johanna and Felix are not adventurers material. And Sabine obviously can't join because she's a guild receptionist. So the last one available is Rosalinda but she was a C-rank adventurer who has never take a mission for a few years already so she has to restart from the bottom again. She's now back to E-rank but she's just casually taking missions. She's not in a hurry is what she said but she will join my clan later.

So in the end, other than myself and Cornelia, I have to look for three other members. Two if Rosalinda joins early on.

What about attending school? I can still attend school as a clan leader in the future. And it's not rare for students who are adventurers to create a clan on their own. Some of them already created clans and they're based in Dahlia.

I want to make our clan to not have a main base so we can go anywhere. Or maybe make it so big that even if we have a main base, there are multiple branches.

But being the leader means I have to stand in the spotlight. I hate it already. Still, this can be considered as creating my own private military force, right? This will help a lot with the fight against the demons in the future. And I will also only let people I can trust to join the clan.

Maybe it won't be big enough to have several branches. But that's okay. I just need some really strong people who will handle everything while I will focus on protecting my family.

After talking with the Goddess who doesn't remember anything, Cornelia was convinced that the novel's ending is not the real ending that she wants. She wants peace for her and her brother. And she really doesn't think about her parents at all anymore. For her now, it's only her and her brother.

As for me standing out and making enemies of everyone who has crushes on Cornelia, that doesn't matter. I'll still continue to get stronger. Even if I can use Aura now, I will still try my best to get stronger and smoke every day.

"So that cigarette helps with increasing maximum mana? What about elixirs and other methods?" Cornelia asks me after she and the Goddess finished talking. She's pretty much already one hundred percent with me. As long as I can keep her brother safe, she will never betray me. I think that's the case.

"Elixirs or other methods have limit. Even if you're extremely rich and can buy many elixirs, only the first three will have great effect though each time you drink one the effect will be reduced greatly. But red grass cigarettes have no limit. Sure smoking fifty cigarettes can increase the usage of slip magic by one and it's not even half of the necessary mana that a normal mage use to cast a normal Fireball. But the no limit part about it is so good. If I have the chance to buy elixirs, I will still buy them though," I say.

"But you have a lot of mana already. Can you give me some?"

"I don't let teenagers smoke. Is what I'd say if this is my past life. Well, there's no other side effect and it's not even addictive. But how will you convince other people if they see you smoking?" I ask.

"I'll just do it somewhere no one is watching. So, what's our plan for now?" Cornelia asks.

The plan? Get stronger, kill all demons, survive every difficult situations that happened in the game, novel, and real life even if it's not in the novel or the game. But I can't just say that to someone expecting to do something good.

"If possible, focus on reaching B-rank as an adventurer at least. You can also take missions or quests with your friends and classmates and see if they can be trusted. Help me find potential clan members. If you have any suggestion, that's great. Or you can just tell me who has what talent. And if you're not taking mission but still interested in getting stronger, I can help. I have taught these people that talents are not everything and I can give you some ideas to help you stronger with your two talents. Or rather, you should really start learning from me first when you have the time. I have found a lot of magic books you can learn from all my explorations. Your talents will help you learn them," I say.

"Wait! You never told that before! I want to learn magic as well! Or rather, I'm the magic genius here! She should learn magic from me. But I want to borrow those books first," Rosalinda says.

"Only if you promise to join my clan and willing to kill all demons," I say.

"Even though you just want to let everyone do it while you're sitting back at home making sure your family is safe?" Rosalinda asks.

"Yes," I say without hesitation.

"…Fine. I just need to reach B-rank, right? Easy. Though I don't know if I will join your clan right away or not because I also have other personal matters to take care of. Let me see those books."

I think letting her learn those magic first will be helpful. But should I trust her just because the Goddess picked her? Maybe I should.

I think it's fine. It's not like I'll just give anyone dangerous magic books. They're for negotiation in the future. I'll give her something she will be happy with even if it's not something exceptional.

Though I also want to learn all those magic. But it's hard without any talent in magic other than slip magic. As long as those magic are potentially helpful for me, that's all I need to know.
