What Belongs to Me

**AURORA**

"I need to talk to Liam," I said, keeping my voice steady despite the thrum of anxiety coursing through my body.

Kian's eyes narrowed. The bright morning light streaming through the kitchen windows made his scars more visible, silvery lines mapping a history of pain across his skin. His jawline tightened, the muscle there flexing with tension.

"We've been through this," he said. "No."

I took a deep breath. This possessive side of him both thrilled and terrified me.

"Look, it's not what you think. I need to handle him carefully," I explained. "He's creating problems with my family."

"Problems?" Kian leaned forward, his coffee forgotten. "What kind of problems?"

I hesitated, wondering how much to reveal. "He's been calling my sister. My mom. He's on some kind of revenge spree."

The words slipped out before I could stop them. Kian's eyes darkened immediately.

"Revenge spree?" His voice dropped dangerously low. "Explain."
