**AURORA**
"I'm going to be so late," I muttered, frantically pulling on my blouse. My fingers fumbled with the buttons as anxiety crept up my spine.
I hadn't missed a day of work in three years, and here I was, rushing after a morning sex session with Kian Vance. Julian was going to kill me. Or worse—fire me.
Kian lounged against my bedroom doorframe, watching me scramble. Unlike me, he seemed completely relaxed in his rumpled clothes from yesterday. His dark eyes tracked my movements with an intensity that made my skin tingle.
"You have time," he said coolly. "It's barely nine."
"Nine is an hour late for me!" I tugged a brush through my tangled hair. "And I have a meeting at ten with the entire security team."
While I rushed around my bedroom, I noticed Kian's attention shift. He was examining my apartment with methodical precision—checking my windows, eyeing the locks on my door. His casual demeanor had evaporated, replaced by something more calculating.
