That night, Marcus called, furious, to question me:
"Eliza, are you trying to drive me to my death? After four years together, do you really have to be so ruthless?"
I let out a cold laugh.
"When you were spreading those slut-shaming rumors about me for that bitch Jessica, did you ever think about our four years together?"
"Right now, the last thing we can talk about is feelings."
With that said, I hung up without a second thought.
Half a month later, the case between Marcus and me officially went to court.
And the verdict.
Unsurprisingly, I won.
Before leaving the courthouse.
Marcus, his face ashen and his eyes bloodshot, blocked my way and begged:
"Eliza, I really know I was wrong now. I love you, it was all Jessica, that slutty bitch, who seduced me... Can we start over? Please?"
I crossed my arms, watching him with great interest.
"Then what about the one point two million dollars you owe me?"
Marcus's eyes lit up, and he grabbed my hand excitedly.
