Chapter 13.2: The Ghost’s Redemption

That evening, back in Dorm 415, the system chimed.

[Ghost record updated.][Target: Unnamed female spirit—redeemed.][Brotherhood Value +45][Current Total: 190 / 1,000,000]

Shi Mo smiled faintly.

The number still seemed laughably small—but progress was progress.

Fu Yunshen sat on his bed, sketching something in a notebook.

She peered over.

It was the red shoes.

Delicately drawn. Beautiful. Floating in white space, as if still dancing somewhere unseen.

"You draw?" she asked.

He shrugged. "Sometimes."

"She'd like that," Shi Mo said.

He paused, then nodded.

There was something different in his expression now—softer, less guarded.

"You're not what I expected," he said.

Shi Mo blinked. "Is that a compliment or an insult?"

"A little of both."

She grinned. "I'll take it."

Later that night, Fu Yunshen dozed off early, the sketchbook still open beside him.

Shi Mo lay on her own bed, staring at the ceiling.

She thought about the ghost girl. Her silent cries. Her unanswered longing.

Then she thought about herself.

A girl pretending to be a boy. Trapped by a charm parasite. Sent into a story where she was supposed to play the villain.

And yet here she was—giving peace to the dead.

Was this really just a mission anymore?

Or had it become something else?

She didn't have an answer.

But for once, she didn't feel alone.

And that was enough.
