She opens her eyes…
The first face she sees is that of her longest and best friend Bobby. Looking around, she
sees the machines used to keep her alive while she was fighting for her life. Smiling
Bobby gets out of the chair from across the room and walks over to the bed.
Good morning sunshine… How are you feeling??? I am ok… How did I get here??? We had plans to go out for coffee the morning you cut your wrist Bobby replied. I got to your house and the door was still unlocked from when dumb ass left. I went in looking to see if you were still sleeping, but to my dismay you were not. When I made it into the bathroom it looked like a murder scene. I thought you were dead. But you were still barely alive. I rushed you here and they started working on you immediately. You know that jack ass tried to come and
see you???
Did he make it in here???
No, he didn't. The nurse told him that if he came back, they would call the police because of how you looked when I brought you in. She sobs softly. You can tell by the look on her face that she is relieved and scared at the same time because Tommy wasn't allowed into the hospital room. She sits up and hug Bobby as if it were her last day on the earth. "Thank you…" she sobs softly. No need for thanks you're my best friend. Now get some rest so you can get better and we can get out of here.
She whispers ok as she smiles and lays back down and closes her eyes.
She opens her eyes…
She's playing Mario Kart with Bobby at his house. And for the first time she's finally
winning. It starts to rain, and Bobby's dad walks in with the greatest look of sadness on his face. Amanda… I… I… We need to talk…
What about Mr. Williams???
Just come into the kitchen sweetheart…
I am so sorry to tell you this, but your parents were on their way back from the ski trip
when a tractor trailer lost control and ran them off the road. Your dad lost control of the car and ran into a tree. Your mom was thrown from the car. She didn't make it. Your dad made it to the hospital, but he didn't make it either. They couldn't stop the bleeding. I know you should never
have to hear this and I'm terribly sorry. You can stay with us until one of your family members comes and gets you.
Not knowing how to feel or react to the news she just looks at Mr. Williams with a blank
look on her face as if she is not there mentally.
