Hell broke loose

Duke spent the morning streaming and playing games, he has a snarky grin as he laughs, currently being toxic to his opponent in-game. "Who let a 5-year-old play this? Go back to playing Mincecraft~", He trashes his opponent on voice chat, the chat is loving this, sending many donations and chatting with Duke. Duke responded back with some jokes and banters, the light humming from the air conditioner fill the background as he plays. He continues his streaming up until one of his viewers in chat pointed something out outside his house, through his window. At 11:58.

"What do you mean?", Duke confused and thought that this viewer is trying to scare him, he sneers and turn around toward the window before suddenly freezing, a massive explosion is heard and rumbles Duke house, which is on the edge of Elysian town, but that didn't stop the sweats vividly pouring down his back and forehead. fear sprouted in his heart as he stood up from his chair, the chats are being overwhelmed with ton of new comments.

Duke subconsciously held his breath, as he saw the pitch-black fog devoured the school where Ethan is at. His eyes widen as he realized that Ethan got devoured, but before he could say or do anything, Pitch-black fog devoured his house, and his vision went all black. For a second, Duke screamed as he felt his heart being taken out and his neck being cut, but in the next second, he fell to his knees, the pitch black fog is nowhere to be seen, tears streaming down his face as he wheezes and pants, he immediately touches his neck and chest to make sure that it didn't dug or cut off, it almost likes the pain was an illusion… But it was too vivid to be an illusion.

"W-What the fuck was that…", Duke turned his head back at the monitor and saw the comments suddenly empty, he was still streaming, but his viewer disappeared? He sees his view count that turned to 0 and slowly increases back up to 381, his original view count before the incident. Each one commented in exasperation and said that they have the same pitch-black fog devoured their city or town. Duke looked dumbfounded and fearful of what was going on, one comment stood out on his livestream.

[WorshipMeMortal: uuh guys? There is zombies outside my houses]

Duke froze as his eyes widen at the message.

"Hey, no joking around. This is seriou…", Duke hear a guttural screams and groans outside his window, it seems to be originating deep in Elysian town. He turned his head at the noises before leaving his room quickly, he moves to every door that led outside and locked it, he checked the windows, closed every curtain before he goes back to his room. The comments are freaking out and asking for help, Duke is breathing heavily as he is deeply concerned for Ethan.

"Guys! I'll leave the stream running, make sure to lock your doors and windows. I'm not taking my chances", Duke closed his curtain and sat in his chairs, he closed his games and went online to figure out what the hell is going on, the internet is a great place to figure out what just happened. He murmurs to himself: "You better be damn alive, Ethan. Better be…".

While Duke tries to figure out what is going on and if it is the same around the world, Ethan and his classmates are walking out to the patio. After finding out that the second sun appeared and barely calming down. Ethan has a sudden urge to run away, he vividly feels cold sweats on his back as he shivers, suddenly, it's cold. The temperature in the air must've dropped by 5 degrees, but the difference in temperature was too sudden, and adding the fact that there are now two suns and the temperature dropping? 

Even the dullest of man could feel that something isn't right, he grabs Dave and Nathan arms, each one glances at each other without a single word, and they instinctively know what to do. They were the first to run toward the school, the others were a bit slow but followed without asking a question, due to the gut-wrenching urge to run.

Soon, from the shadow of the forest, corpses sprinted at them, dead dogs, cats, humans moved at such unnatural speed, the slowest in the patio who had yet to run, noticed the corpses moving toward them, and when they started to run away, it was already too late. The corpses lunge at them and maul on them, the guttural screams can be heard as Ethan, Dave and Nathan felt lightheaded from this while running away. Luckily, they were the first to run away and to enter the school, however the corpses are catching up fast.

"Oi! Music Classroom!", Dave pants as he shouted out to the two boys running with him, Ethan and Nathan nodded without any protest and dash upstairs. They have no idea if the others survived or not, one thing they do know, is they are too desperate and focused on survival. On the second floor, they found dead students from other classes. Ethan could recognize some of them, but they're not moving… none of them took the chance to find out why they aren't moving as they move up to the third floor. 

They hear countless growl and groans with rapid thuds beneath their floor, they finally reached the music classroom and immediately entered, slamming the door, the music classroom has soundproofed walls with wide area and the door is typically locked to prevent students from stealing instruments. Luckily, it was opened as Ethan immediately grab the extra key, that is behind one of the soundproof pads and lock the door behind them.

"Huff, Huff Puff, Puff", Nathan pants as he sat down on the ground and against the wall, Dave sprawled on the floor, gazing at the ceiling, Ethan fell to his knees and pressed his forehead against the door. The boys took a couple of minutes to calm down, before Ethan's tears start to fall as he covers his mouth, the reality has finally set in. The horrible stench of rotting corpses, some of his classmates dying gruesomely to the horde. Dave covered his eyes with his hand before almost puking, he moved to the trashcan to make sure it doesn't slop on the ground, luckily, the vomit didn't come out as Dave pants, only saliva is dripping instead of vomit.

"M-My little sister is… still at kindergarten… No… wh-whw-what should… ah... I…", Nathan starts hyperventilating as he clutches his arms, Nathan words wake both up, Dave wonder if his uncle and aunt are safe and alive, Ethan starts to worry about Duke before remembering he skipped school. 'I never thought I would be so glad that he skipped school today… the house should be safe, the door is doubled locked and reinforced…'.

Ethan shook his head before moving to Nathan and hugging him, "Don't worry, your lil sis is a smart cookie, isn't she? And they have an emergency bunker underneath the kindergarten, right? So calm down. Don't think of the worst outcome" Nathan, surprised by the hug and his reassurance, leans into his hug as he starts to calm down. Dave looked at them before wiping off the saliva on his jockey jacket sleeves, he moved to them and hugged them both.

They continued hugging each for 3 minutes before pulling away, the boys sat in a triangle position, facing each other. "None of this makes sense, the black…", Ethan shudders as he remembers the sensation, during that one second after the black fog devoured them, "fog… the corpses, well, zombies….", Dave nodded as Nathan stare at the clock in the music room wall.

"... Is this… Hell?", Dave and Ethan turn their heads toward him. "No, it isn't, why do you…", Dave spurted out before stopping suddenly and thought about it "Let's not think about it too much, our main priority is survival, right guys? Our family would be saddened, if we were to die, right?" Dave and Nathan felt a resolve growing, their eyes starting to clear up from the fear. "That's right, I promised my little sister to take her around the world, I can't die here", "Yes, I can't die here! I need to get rich and famous fast to repay my aunt and uncle for sacrificing their livelihood for mine!", Ethan smirks as he joins them "Then let fucking survive, these chumps have nothing on us!", two of them join in the cheering, before they hear another explosion from the distance, deep inside Elysian Town.

Then they see countless corpses moving at inhuman speed, dashing past the music classroom they were in, the intense rumbles and rapid thuds plus the groans and growl shut the boys up very quickly, the explosion attracted the corpses toward it. Few minutes went by.

"... let's delay our survival for a bit, yeah?", Ethan spoke softly and quietly as Dave and Nathan immediately nodded, first they needed to know what they were dealing with.

Duke surfs the web and reading comments from his live stream

"So, you're saying that not everyone who got devoured by the black cloud, what are the chances in that? Is that the reason why they didn't appear in this…", Duke glanced at the closed curtain window, "...", Duke turns his head back at his monitor and claps his hands. "Alrighty lads, bring together all the information you got in the chat, I'll pile them up in the list", Duke put on his infamous streamer smirk, as he cracks his knuckles. Onward, he received information and piled them up. No one tries to play pranks or troll Duke because they too are afraid of what is going on. However, seeing their favorite streamer behaving calm and smiling gives them hope that it isn't all bad.

30 minutes gone by…

"Mh… so that's interesting…", Duke murmurs as he looks at the list he made on his screen, "So ILikeFeet9183 town has zombies that are very slow… but it is strong enough to break down a wall… GetRektNumb town doesn't have any corpses, but plants are quickly taking over and can infect humans… Fuccck… So, there are different variants? Why couldn't this be like the walking corpse game…", He rubbed his face and sighed, before reading the comments again, his eyes widen in shock.

[WorshipMeMortal: guys? I don't have the zombies or plants you are talking about… but my town is completely gone, there is a massive pit… I can't even see the bottom]

Duke looks dumbfounded, there isn't anything in common between each city or town.

"... How are we humans supposed to survive this… Dammit… I hope Ethan is doing alright…".

Duke leaned back into his chair and stared at the clock with a deep sigh. Even though he doesn't show it to his viewers, he is deeply afraid and scared of what is going on, but years of being Ethan's big brother came into effect, making him look calm to relieve his viewers and even himself to a certain extent.

Before the 30 minutes when Duke was listing together all information he gained, there was a student banging on the other side of the door, pleading for help and sobbing, Ethan immediately went to the to unlock it and open it, but Dave stopped him and said, "How do we know if he really a human?".

Ethan looks at him dumbfounded, "What the fuck do you mean how do we know if he really a human? We aren't monsters!", Dave shakes his head and grips both of Ethan's shoulders strongly, but not painfully, "First the black fog, then zombies that have inhuman speeds. What if there are monsters that pretend to be human", Nathan immediately shivered at such thought, even Ethan froze, unable to protest back and sigh, "how about we ask them questions to determine if they are human…".

Dave stops to think about it before nodding, "that's work. Let's do it", Ethan sighs of relief before going to the door, "Sorry, but we must ask you a series of question", The person on the other side kept banging and sobbing, "Calm down! You're going to attract zombies to us!", But the person doesn't stop, it's almost like it doesn't hear Ethan, something feels obviously off. "... Are you… okay?", The person continues what he is doing, Nathan placed his ears against the banging door and realizes something, even though the person is pleading and sobbing for help, the person doesn't seem to be breathing, he relayed the information to Dave and Ethan which froze and glanced at each other in fear. They decided to ignore the plead for help which took 28 minutes, before 'it' growl and walk away with heavy thud for each step. They now know that there is something that pretend to be a human, a normal human pleading for help doesn't do that for the next 28 minute and attracts corpses toward them.

"I fucking hate this…" Nathan chokes and breaks down as Dave looks sadden and feels the same way, they hug each other before Ethan joins them.
