Chapter 53:The Eternar Shadow Convergence

Meanwhile, in the darkness...

POV: Sitha and Virelia

We were surrounding the Eternal Night Wolves — myself, Virelia, Ezir, and the triton golems.

Each one of us dealt specifically with one wolf: I took one, Virelia took another, and the golems together with Ezir handled the last one.

The wolves were being pressured easily by us, however, they did not seem very worried at all.

Using the Conjurer's Eye, I attacked the beast with intense strikes. It was losing in every confrontation, but at no moment did it seem intimidated, scared, hesitant, or anything of the sort.

Curious... I have never seen beasts like this. They seem to hold an arrogance so uncontestable that they seem to always believe they will win, even when faced with numerous disadvantages.

Could this arrogance come from that black shadow? My spiritualist instincts leave me curious. Although my area is spirits and not demonic beasts, I have a good knowledge of them.

And I know quite a bit about the Eternal Night Wolves, but this is not normal for them. They usually fight in an orderly and instinctively cautious manner.

So their arrogance and fighting style is very strange... Damn it.

— Virelia! — I shouted at her.

But it was not in time.

The wolves ran and collided against each other.

A darkness spread around them, almost like a dome or barrier. From within, noises of bones moving and cracking were heard.

Tack. Track. Crack.

Sounds similar to those made by the wolves fusing together.

I had forgotten this small and rare detail, but wolves sometimes are born in synergy, specifically twins. When twin wolves are born, they have perfect synchronization — this happens in any species of wolf.

As soon as wolves are born as twins, they can fuse because of the extremely high and perfect synchronization of 100%.

This does not limit itself only to them, but also to some specific races, mainly beasts born of litters.

Damn. Now this will become a problem, I thought, watching the dome of darkness that was beginning to crack.

And how am I supposed to deal with this? This is a real problem — a transformation of three beings into a third level, in perfect synchronization.

Crack.

The dome of darkness slowly shattered, and from there, a huge black wolf standing on two legs emerged.

Its front paws had become more human-like. There were three eyes on its face, three black tails, and some strangely placed white dots on its body, giving the impression that its fur was the night sky painted with stars.

Boom.

Its huge body advanced, and the ground seemed not to register its movements immediately — the dust took time to spread. Quickly, it was in front of one of the tritons.

It performed a slash that ripped the triton apart in a single strike, showing terrifying strength.

But it did not stop there — it continued advancing. Three black slashes escaped from its claws, advancing towards Ezir.

Due to its massive body, it was limited to dodging, and the cut hit and tore its body.

Its huge body was destroyed and a form of a spiritual cat returned to its spiritual item.

Well, it is aggressive, isn't it? I thought, laughing. This beast destroyed two beings of almost Baron level in just a few seconds.

Without letting it attack further, I formed a triangle with my hands, and a ray of neutral energy advanced towards it.

It roared, and a black ray collided with my attack.

Water currents — Virelia used her attack to trap the beast, the triton followed his queen and attacked heavily with a water trident. The trident created a light cut on the beast's leg, but it did not lose focus and the black ray kept advancing toward me.

— Virelia, do you have any idea how to kill this beast? I asked her mentally.

— No, not the slightest, — she answered in her natural tone.

Damn.

My transformation activated and the second Sitha appeared.

— What happened? — she asked.

— The slight improvement from the transformation is useless, so I need your help.

— Are you sure? Even though the transformation only strengthens me by 40%, without it I can only last three minutes.

— It doesn't matter, at this moment it is better to kill this beast as quickly as possible.

The other Sitha simply nodded. Her Conjurer's Eye slowly opened. Her fingers intertwined and countless chains advanced toward the fused Eternal Night Wolf.

The chains wrapped around it and started squeezing its body.

Rarrrrr.

With a roar and extreme strength, the chains broke only seconds later.

Our collision created an explosion between neutral and abyssal energies.

Through the smoke, it advanced at high speed attacking the second Sitha, who tried to chain it.

Rarrrr.

Its roar echoed with hatred and its claws advanced toward the clone.

I, Virelia, and the triton took the opportunity to attack: energy rays, water attacks, trident slashes.

Damn, where are Flávia and Selena? I am not an avid fighter, I only lead the army because we are missing one Baron.

I just need to hold this beast until Flávia and Selena arrive.

We attacked the beast relentlessly from all sides — left, right, up, down.

The beast received attacks from every direction, but something bad happened.

The clone's three minutes ran out and it vanished in smoke.

The beast stared at us and started roaring, advancing like a black lightning bolt.

Its target? The triton, the weakest.

Its body approached at high speed and its claws made a terrifying cut that divided the triton into three.

Even so, this guardian golem showed fervor. It plunged its trident into the beast's clavicle before dying.

Raaahhhh!

Its roar of pain and hatred increased. Seeing the trident in its body and blood dripping, its eyes turned red with rage.

It advanced at Virelia, which was not truly bad since she is a familiar and can return to her item. The problem was that I would be left alone against the beast.

— And I'm really going to die... — I thought, slightly scared.

And now?

We're getting closer to the climax of the first major arc!
